To keep everyone focused on IMPORTANT issues
What's your favorite service project that your chapter does/did?
My favorite is our Halloween Party. Each year, our chapter co-sponsors a Halloween Party with Bailey House, a social service organization that provides a variety of services for children with HIV and AIDS and their families. It's so rewarding to see a smile on the face of a child that has AIDS or is HIV+. |
Habitat for humanity and car washes. Or, any other service project that doesn't involve working w/ people. I know that sounds bad.
|
That doesn't sound bad. . .I didn't like working with young children, but I had no problems with kids 9 and up.
My favorite was Washington Home and Hospice, where we would just go and talk to the residents and help them feel less lonely. |
Washington Home and Hospice
I went there with some Mu Alpha brothers and pledges. I had a great time dancing with the residents

My Fave...
I can't work with little little kids when it comes to a service project. Tried it once and failed miserably...this is probably why I'm not majoring in Early Childhood Education anymore :p
My favorite service project is our chapter's annual White Rose Ball. It is a charity ball (semi-formal/formal) in which we ask our guests to donate a toy or book for the patients at Hughes-Spalding Children's Medical Center (right down the street from the Georgia State campus). We had a fabulous time last year, and the turnout was great! We collected 200-plus items for donation to the hospital. Now that school is starting soon, we'll start planning for the next one. Now you know, you're all invited :D |
Love the children
Unfortunately I have to like the little kids being that i am the owner of one. But we do pastels on the plaza which benefits the kids without the hassle of being attacked by one at the knees. Artist from all over come to grace our sidewalks with creations that would impress the goddess herself and we get totally covered in chalk (as their assistants)and get a square to represent our org in.

anything involving working with kids, and doing joint projects with the petitionig group at Fisk University.

So indecisive
When I was pledging, I loved going to Washington Home (described abouve by dardenr) and Mary House (we renovate houses for immigrant families, similar to Habitat for Humanity.)
Now my favorite service projects are Washington Home and Samaratin Inns. We go grocery shopping and then cook dinner for a mens' shelter who are homeless and recovering adicts. There are others I enjoy, but these are the one that I go the most. |
My favorite is our twice-annual Girl Scout Badge Day.
Love it. |
