Monmouth College - Founder's Day celebration
 

The Illinois Alpha chapter at Monmouth College is getting a new chapter house. Sororities were previously unhoused at Monmouth and the school is moving towards chapter houses for the NPC groups. Dedication for the new house will be on April 28, 2016.

In addition to that, they are holding tours at Holt House, campus tours and cemetery tours (some of the founders are buried in Monmouth) and a Founder's Day celebration. It should be a really cool day for Pi Phi history buffs!

For about the last 5 or so years, all three chapters, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Alpha Xi Delta, and Pi Beta Phi have had chapter houses. AZD was in a newly built (by the college) house on land where the ZBT house had been. Kappa and Pi Phi were given houses to use. The new Pi Phi house is diagonally across from Stewart House, where KKG founder Minnie Stewart grew up.

Lovely story...thanks for sharing, Fran! I'll share it with my daughter (currently in her last two weeks as a collegiate Pi Phi before W&L graduation!).

BTW, her little wore the opal badge during initiation this winter. My daughter wanted to wear her own, and her little jumped at the chance to wear the rescued badge.
