Another housing myth

From the student newspaper at Penn--all sororities must have the same housing situation: http://www.thedp.com/article/2016/02...e-fraternities

Aren't there schools other than Indiana where some sororities have houses but others don't?

"All sororities must have the same housing situation" is a bit of a half-truth...NPC considers it the ideal situation, and on a campus where everyone has dorms, one group suddenly building a mansion would be seriously frowned upon.

In reality, there are campuses where housing is seriously unequal, because of land limitations, history, etc. So, it's not so much a myth as a goal that isn't quite attainable on every campus.

If there is an NPC Housing Agreement for that campus (meaning all the I/NPs have signed agreement), then it is true that either all or none have housing.

I totally didn't understand the part about "compensating" sororities on campi that don't have housing.

Don't day drink and write your Daily Penn article.

I believe UCF has both housed and unhoused chapters and I don't believe there's any intention to change that.

Yes, Indiana University has both housed and unhoused fraternities and sororities.
