The Pixie post?
Um duh, if something is a subject of controversy, you do not post about it in a place where people may disagree with you, private or not, sisters or not. (Translation: this is an inside job.) |

My parents moved to Bloomsburg while I was a student at UMaine, so I got to hang out there a little during summers, and from what I remember from socializing with some of the B'burg students, half the sororities were locals and half were nationals - none of which I was familiar with since none were at UMaine at the time (and they didn't know AOII, but this was pre-internet). Pixie was/is one of the locals.
This goes without saying, but it's never a good idea to put this kind of thing in writing even off the internet, because you never know who's going to pass it around! Since they are local, I guess there won' t be any problems from nationals though... |
Can I just say, I went to the AST at Bloomsburg website and those girls are SO CUTE. Seriously. Maybe the other chapter is a little bit jealous?

I was going to post that they were super cute yesterday, but I didn't want to seem biased :-P

Both of these groups have attractive women. You're right that there are 1/2 locals and 1/2 nationals. And it's a constant struggle because the locals are in leadership positions in the Panhellenic, but hardly ever follow the rules, etc. But this blew up BADLY in the face of Pixies (Phi Iota Chi). Funny thing is that they had no alumni advisor, but the GREEK advisor at Bloomsburg is their chapter advisor. She hasn't made a comment yet...big surprise.

I'm only curious because, if the locals are in leadership positions in panhellenic, and yet are not following the rules, what is the point of them being in panhellenic? In other words, why join a cooperative association for NPC organizations when you're not going to cooperate? You'd think that NPC would eventually take issue, right? Or is it a case of "well, this is the campus culture and we just have to deal with it"? Perhaps the locals have got the NPC chapters where they want them -- they know that, outside of the college panhellenic, they could do anything and everything they want. At least this way, maybe they're breaking some rules, but still adhering to some? Again, it's a sincere question. College panhellenic isn't my arena and I'm interested to learn and understand more. |
They don't HAVE to, but in this situation it would probably blow up in the NPC groups' face as far as rush is concerned.
