weight loss :D

Hey everyone!

Since March, I have lost 50 pounds! :D

I'm so proud of myself because I never thought I could stick with it. I feel better, I look a whole lot better, I'm healthy and in shape...ahhh! I'm so happy. :D

Just wanted to brag on myself. :D

TigerGirl52 08-02-2002 10:52 AM

ZTAMiami 08-02-2002 12:25 PM

Oh my goodness! Congratulations!:D
What are you doing? Please don't tell me it Atkins!

ChiOJenn78 08-02-2002 01:01 PM

That's awesome!! You go girl!

ZTAMiami is right, Atkins=bad.

dzsaigirl 08-02-2002 01:17 PM

That is great! I am really proud of you!

I don't need to lose weight, but I need to change my body composition...Yes, you can be a size 4 and have tummy fat! My goal is not to lose weight, but to get in shape and feel better, and I am having a really hard time getting motivated, so you have motivated me a little in that direction! I want to see my abs by Thanksgiving ;)

My mom was 160 and now she is 115 and has kept it off for about 2 years. She made a lifesyle change in her eating habits and that made the difference for her.

I lost lots of weight on Atkins too. 17 pounds in 3 weeks (this was a few yrs ago, I am now a vegetarian) But I felt like crap! I felt like I was wasting away. My legs would shake when I walked across the room.
No doubt that it works, its just not very healthy.

Congratulations on your new healthy life!! If you're ever looking for online motivation and support, I highly recommend the message boards at VideoFitness.com and Fit Prime. The Firm Ya-Ya's board at ezboard is one of my favorites, but you'll need an ezboard account first. Even if you don't work out with videos, there's still a lot of great things to learn and the communities are very friendly.

:) CONGRATS! :)

Yes please tell us how you lost the 50 pounds. I lost 40 a year ago and have kept it off from a change in lifestyle and a little more exercise. I start my new diet next week :( I'm keeping my fingers crossed for another 20 pounds to come off though

Atkins causes your body to burn the fat in the absence of carbs, right? The breakdown of fat in the body puts ketones in your urine, which throw off it's ph. Ketones in the urine are a bad thing-not so much at first, but as it continues, you can go into a coma.

Plus-the diet itself isn't all that great for your heart. But thisis me being anal nursing student. :p

::sigh:: You and me both, dzsaigirl...I now have thighs and rear where I used to have none (ok, less). It's so hard to get motivated!

Woo Hoo!! Congratulations to you!! I, myself, need to hit the gym! It's not too far, really. It is just right down the road. I need to go, I need to go!
