Mini Locks
 

hi,

i've been seeing a lot of people with there hair in locks of all sorts and i've been seriously thinking about getting my hair done that way.

I have been told that they look nappy but i've seen some that don't look that way. I also know that if you want to get rid of them, you have to shave your hair bald which is also making me think very hard before i decide.
what are the thoughts on mini locks or locks in general?

I've been growing locks for 4 1/2 years. I didn't start my locks from the "quick" or very short coils. I started with coils that were about two inches long (maybe a little bit longer).

On the issue of cutting your her hair bald when you no longer want locks is not totally true. You can let your hair grow until it gets a little length and then cut the locked portion of your hair. When your growing your hair to your desired length you simply don't retwist.

I've gotten negative and positive (mostly positive)feedback regarding my locks. However, in my personal opinion one must be ready for locks. I don't internalize the negative or the positive remarks that people have. I say thank you to both opinions because they are simply opinions. What matters most is my opinion when it comes to how I choose to present myself.

There are many people who don't like locks, don't understand locks, etc so they will tell you how they feel about them i.e "it looks nappy." There is nothing wrong with the kink or curl in your hair. That's how the Creator made you and we all know The Creator isn't in the business of making mistakes.

But again this is my opinion.

Thanks for your thoughts on mini locks.
My problem is that i'm a sixteen year old senior and my mama is like NO!! she says not until i go to college so i guess i'll have to wait a few months before i can get them.
I want them though, i've thought about how they will look on me and ect. and i still want them.
I'll just have to wait though:)

My question is, why is everyone so eager to take the "dred" out of "dredlocks". The "dred" is the most important part...
