He was such a talented man. Very sad to hear of his passing. I was one of those who had hoped with his new album release he would come out of retirement and tour.

His ex-wife, Angie, is currently a housemate on Celebrity Big Brother in the UK. In an unexpectedly tasteful move, the producers told her of David's death off-camera. She's decided to stay in the house for now.

Such a loss. My sympathies to his loved ones.

Such a protean performer. We will miss him.

I thought he was coming out with new music as well when I saw him trending on twitter. Sadly that wasn't the case :(, may he rest in peace.

The stars are truly very different today. Rest in peace, my beloved Starman.

They've been divorced for a really long time. And if I'm recalling correctly this was one of those high profile ugly divorces.

Ugly is an understatement. I don't think they spoke in the past 40 years, and if they did, it was probably only regarding Duncan (Zowie).

Bowie was one of the geniuses of Rock and Roll.
