What happened to the pledges?

PurdueGirlie 07-30-2002 02:07 AM

As far as I know, nothing happened to them. It was the talk of campus for about a week, but after that Ali said everyone just forgot about it.

I didn't, of course!

But to this day, every time I see anything Sigma Chi related, I wince a little.

Peaches-n-Cream 07-30-2002 02:11 AM

You definitely should have been taken to the hospital. You must have had one huge 'hangover' the next day. :p

josh8o 07-30-2002 03:42 AM

lol
thats sucks...that's why you should never party at sigma chi...come over to phi kappa psi. we don't have any chi's that will hit you in the head!
too funny...

Allie 07-30-2002 05:04 AM

LMAO That really was too funny and it deffinitly sounds like something that could happen in Michigan. Glad you can also look back at it and laugh :)

LeslieAGD 07-30-2002 06:42 AM

Just curious, how did you explain the bruise?

SigmaChiCard 07-30-2002 06:52 AM

whose pledges were they? I would think you'd be a little more scared of their destructive behavior than of Sigma Chi who did nothing more than own a large Chi. How did you explain that?

aephi alum 07-30-2002 09:13 AM

I'm glad you were ok and you can look back at it and laugh. :)

KillarneyRose 07-30-2002 10:22 AM

I'm so glad that you're okay! That must have been terrifying for you and I sure don't think the people that "helped" you handled it very well :(

Glad to see the experience didn't discourage you from rushing, but I notice you didn't join a sorority with a "chi" in the name! ;) Coincidence??? lol

aprilxo 07-30-2002 10:27 AM

You know, stuff like that irritates me anymore... the stealing and vandalism I mean.

Recruitment is coming up, and our Chi is still intact in our front yard... however, our Omega became the victim of brutal abuse last week and is suffering some broken parts :( We got it to stand up, but it still looks half retarded *sigh*

Why, why, why?

Dianne 07-30-2002 11:00 AM

Thankfully our letters are so high up, they are totally out of reach. But the poor Phi Mus are always getting their letters stolen, probably because it's easy to climb up their porch and onto the roof. I know my freshman the Pi Kapps did it all the time b/c they had a friendly prank war going on with the Phi Mus (the were always stealing each others composites and hammocks and doing funny stuff). But that has kinda faded, so when it happened this past school year, no one fessed up. The mystery remains...........

Another episode from the "X Files."

Sorry, that was tacky, but I'm sure glad you weren't hurt any more than you were.

One of the bigger problems we have from a risk management standpoint is people falling from high places. There have been at least three deaths in the past year that I can recall. Being under the influence of alcohol certainly doesn't help -- although I guess you didn't say that the purlioning pledges trying to snatch the "X" were drunk, it's not beyond comprehension. It's lucky one of them didn't fall on you. Try to explain that to mom and dad -- "Honest, he's just a fraternity guy who decided to drop in on us after the toga party."

Next time, please go to the hospital -- head injuries are scary things.

FuzzieAlum 07-30-2002 11:27 AM

We'll have to call you CHIcken Little ... "The chi is falling, the chi is falling!" ;)

Sorry, I couldn't resist. At least you turned out OK - and now you have a hysterical story to tell.

Groan! Only an "alum" would dare post something like that!
