Applying to be a CDC
Hey all!
I was just wanting to throw out a question of -- Are there any graduating girls thinking of applying for a CDC position? I am thinking of applying as I see iti as a wonderful oppurtunity. The CDC's that I have met (Kara Hayman and Pamela George) have been inspiring women! ITB... Elizabeth Pennington Eta Theta Chapter Saint Louis University :p |
hi there--
i think it might be fun...i have a little while (2 years) until i get to that stage. i think it's really tough to get a position though. hey, i am a dg at wash u...we helped colonize you guys :) |
Congratulations on your charter Elizabeth - coming a member from the chapter installed right before you - Eta Eta! :) I read all about your chapter in Anchora, and let me tell you, I was very impressed! What a huge founding class you guys had!
As for CDCs, I say that you should go for it. Personally, I don't think it is for me (I wouldn't be able to live from a suitcase that long), but all of the CDCs I have met have been outstanding women and fine examples of DG sisters. Plus, you'll get to see the country and I think that you coming from a colony will be a different experience than most other CDCs have and it may give you and advantage! Let us know how it goes! :) Jennifer PS - That gal Pamela (she came to us after your chapter) was great, wasn't she? delta gamma "I didn't come to college to find a husband, I came to college to find bridesmaids." |
Hi Elizabeth,
I'm graduating this May, and I'm applying for CDC. I already started writing my essay...hehe :) I'm trying not to get my hopes up, though. Seems like most CDCs were chapter presidents, and I'm not. But, it can't hurt to apply. I think it would be such a great experience! Good luck with your app! ITB Mary VP Membership, Eta Delta chapter PS. I met Kara, and she was awesome! |
Hey ladies!!
I've also been thinking about the whole CDC application process. I've got two more years till I graduate but have put tons and tons of thought into it. The CDCs that we had last year were wonderful.....we got to know Sunita so well, because she came like 5 times, that we were about ready to keep her hostage at the house.....(not like we'd really do that but we grew to love her). Katie also came and visited us for i think 3 weeks straight. Both Sunita and Katie helped us out so much with Recruitment and with the Fraternity-Assisted COB. WOW!!! Two of the most wonderful women I've ever met and I'm so proud to be able to call them my sisters! I just hope that I can possibly have the opportunity to have that much of an influence on other chapters if I am chosen as a CDC. ;) |
It does seem like a wonderful opportunity. I got to meet with Cyrena this past spring about my position, and she was able to give me great ideas. I'd love to do it "when I grow up";) and I think you should definitely at least apply!

Hey Girls!
Thanks for all your encouraging replies! I have been thinking about this CDC thing non-stop now for about 3 months. Mary, looks like I need to start writing my essay! I know that is a very tough position to get but I would like to apply to be able to say that I did and maybe give myself another year from having to step out in to the "real world".... I just know that it is something that I could and would be honored to put my heart and soul into! ITB, Liz P.S. Kara Hayman and Pamela George are two AWESOME AWESOME WOMEN!!!! :D |
