question on legacies?

my mom's cousin was a theta making her my cousin. can she write me a recomendation for thetas?

She could write you a reccommendation, but I am not so sure if you would be considered a legacy or not! But you could be. To tell you the truth I am not too up on Thetas policies on legacies. I hope this helps.

I don't think any NPC sorority considers second cousins legacies. I'd make sure to put it on your recruitment form under 'other' or whatever it is, though! As far as I recall, Theta legacies are moms, sisters, and grandmothers only.

A recommendation from your cousin should be 100% kosher though. Good luck in recruitment!

Legacies

We real all recommendations, even if she doesn't make you a legacy. Legacies are: Mothers, Sisters, Aunts and Grand Mothers.

It doesnt' hurt to have it!

sorry to break into your boards but I saw that Theta considers aunts as far as legacy status is concerned-I was just wondering as my aunt (and cousin) is a Theta but I guess i never considered myself a legacy b/c I thought most sororities only counted grandmothers/sisters and daughters. Anyone know for sure?

To Clarify:
Aunts do not make you a Legacy. On our forms, it's Mother, grand mother, great-grand mother. BUT, on our Reference Forms, if you are an Aunt or a Cousin, you can write a reference form, and there is an area for: Other KAT relatives.

You aren't a direct leg, but the reference from a relative helps you out!

SLOTheta is right... aunts DO NOT make you a legacy... sorry.
