NEW YORK (AP) -- A 7-year-old girl died after being stabbed 30 times by her mother,:eek: who critically injured another woman before she repeatedly stabbed herself, police said.

Tashima Billingslea was declared dead about an hour after being rushed to a hospital Friday. Her mother, Yolanda Billingslea, 27, was in critical but stable condition Saturday at Woodhull Hospital. Charges were pending, police said.

The other woman, Aishia Byrd, 24, was in critical condition Saturday at Kings County Hospital.

Capt. Jim Klein said the two women were in Billingslea's apartment when they began to fight. Police said they did not know what led to the dispute.

By the time two men intervened, Byrd had been stabbed more than a dozen times. Billingslea also had stabbed herself numerous times, Klein said. Two knives and a pair of scissors were recovered.

The Brooklyn mom accused of butchering her 7-year-old daughter led a Jekyll-and-Hyde life for years - looking respectable to the outside world, while in the thrall of angel dust, say friends.

The combination of that drug, an imminent eviction and a fight with her child's father the night before apparently sent Yolanda Billingslea, 27, into a frenzy Friday, when she allegedly killed her daughter, Tashima.

"She just flipped," said Melinda, a longtime family friend who would not reveal her last name. "That drug put her to the edge. It caused her to get her own child. How can you have so much love for your own child and do that to her?"

"If you knew [Billingslea], you would never know that she was into anything," Melinda added. A neighbor named Ms. Curry said: "I've never seen her with a can of beer, never seen her acting funny." But another neighbor said, "She's been doing angel dust for maybe about five years."

Cops said that while they are aware of claims of prior drug use, they don't know if Billingslea was on angel dust when she argued with Tashima, and stabbed her 30 times. They are awaiting the results of toxicological tests.

Billingslea also stabbed a friend, Iashia Byrd, who tried to stop the attack, and then stabbed herself, police said.

Billingslea was in guarded condition and Byrd in stable condition in different hospitals yesterday.

Billingslea's grandmother, Ruby Jean Walls, said she spent Thursday with Billingslea and noticed no emotional problems.

But she said Billingslea and Tashima's father, who had vacated the house several nights before, argued Thursday night. Police had been to the house on domestic violence complaints at least twice in the last two years, records show.

PLEEEEZZZZ say this ain't so!!! :eek: :mad: I just don't know WHAT to say about this one. I have an 8-year-old daughter and I just can not IMAGINE doing something like that to her or my son. I've ALWAYS said and I will CONTINUE to say that if I EVER thought that I would physically hurt my children in ANY way, I would LEAVE them first with my husband, my mother, my in-laws, or someone else who truly loves them and who will take good care of them. That's JUST how much I love my two rugrats.

These stories break my heart. I don't know what is happening lately. It seems like people are really losing it. Satan is working overtime!:( :confused: :mad:

All I'm saying is that people of all races need to really leave the drugs alone. This woman stabs her child, a white couple burned their 8 month old son up in the fire place because they were both high on drugs.

korkscru you made a comment that you couldnever think of doing anything to your rugrats, or would give them to your husband, your parents or in-laws before harming them. the problem is that is what a rational thinking person would do. These people on drugs can't think rational, the drugs have taken control of their mind and what little self-control they have.

Exactly.....when I read the article I was like WTH!!! The grandmother of the child is the one that reported to police that she had not seen her grand son in a while. If she had not reported this, police may not have have known what happened to the child.

Where did the crime against the 8-month-old happen?

I hate to see any babyperson, of any race, suffer.

It was in New jersey. Also this morning on the news they stated that the girlfriend allowed the boyfriend to beat the baby to death, and then in their drug induced haze:eek: agreed to burn the baby in the fireplace.
