Internet Guidelines

Do you believe that we should follow internet guidelines? Feedback

Interesting topic. I have spoken many times to the national & regional webmaster about this. Personally I feel that there should be a strict content guideline. I also feel that nationals should endorse official websites. I see the web as a means of communication that is very important. My chapter's site is averaging about 500 hits a month in the summer & about 1000 a month in the school year. If that many people are viewing what we say via the net then it may be close to the same for other chapters. Some pages are disgusting and not representative of Phi Beta Sigma.

I feel that internet guidelines are vital in ensuring that we are projecting the proper image for Sigma and Zeta. There are tons of sites out there that have bad information on them or that do not portray us in a positive light. Many other organizations have internet guidelines and I do not see why we should not have them. On that token, I feel that there is really no excuse not to have an updated website in this day and age. I have come across some pages that haven't been updated since the late-'90's. On top of that, there are tons of chapters out there that do not even have a website at all. That is unacceptable in 2002.
