Hey all-- As a newbie going through formal rush on the sister side, I wanted some tips... What has worked best for yall as far as making a lasting impression goes, not as a chapter, but as an individual?

Concentrate on your PNM - ask serious (but not too serious) questions that will show that you have a true interest in getting to know her. You will stand out as the one person that was caring and not just asking "what's your major?"

If you're nervous, don't be scared to tell her! The first party of the first round, I was so nervous that I would say something that would make the chapter or myself look bad, or I wouldn't know what to say, or she wouldn't respond well, etc etc etc. So the first girl I got, as soon as she walked in the door, I said, "Are you nervous? Because I sure am!! This is my first time doing recruitment from this side!" It really helped to break the ice b/c of course she was nervous, so I think it helped make me seem more human - not like some older, scary sorority girl that the PNM had to impress. Above all - BE YOURSELF!!!! Be enthusiastic, and let that Zeta love shine through!! ;) Good luck!

The biggest thing I can tell you is to remember the PNM are scared, and to make them feel comfortable. It is not up to them to start converstation. Also, like someone said before, asking them unique questions besides: "What is your major?" "Where are you from?" will get you remembered.
