Stripper Aerobics
What will they think of next?
Stripper Aerobics Who knew stripping could be so sweat inducing -- for the person taking it all off? Members of the Crunch gym chain in Los Angeles, New York and Miami have been hustling to get into the chain's hottest new class, Cardio-Striptease, a low-impact aerobic workout choreographed with actual strip-club moves. (Gold's Gym in Venice, California is planning to introduce a class called The Art of Exotic Dancing.) In addition to providing an excuse to wear boas and hobnob with real-life pole dancers, these classes provide a great workout. Calories burned: 400 to 500 per hour for a 135-pound woman. Who's doing it: Mostly women, between the ages of 25 and 40. It helps if you're slightly uninhibited -- these classes often involve shedding layers of clothing as you go, if you dare! Try this at home: Not a Crunch member? The gym has plans to release an instructional home video. Or you can try the do-it-yourself approach. According to Donna Cyrus, national group fitness director for Crunch, this workout involves lots of squats, lunges and kicks which tone all the major muscle groups. Put on some jamming tunes and pretend your living room is Club Kinky! http://womencentral.msn.com/fitnessh...ltv_trends.asp |
I'm thinking.."Hell Yeah" on this one *nods*
But, with a slight twist..a class with just me and the good ole Chippendale's *nods* :D |
:)
I work out at Crunch LA and have taken the Cardio Strip Tease class-- IT IS SO MUCH FUN!!! you totally laugh your ass off while working out. :) |
I would love to try this-I think it would be so much fun!! Unfortunately, the ghetto/backwoods island I live on is way too un-cool to know about this.

I would love to take this! I doubt that the LSU Rec Center will be adding this class any time soon. LOL.
The gym I belong to at home is pretty progressive - internet terminals on some of the machines. But I don't think they'd do this for some reason. This is a pretty conservative town. |
I go to Crunch in NYC, but unfortunately they don't have this class at my Crunch:(
The best class we get is bellydancing and tribal yoga. I LOVE tribal yoga... |
I saw a report on this thing sometime in the past two months. It was weird cuz like it's composed mainly of just normal people wearing either normals workout clothes or something sorta risque...
Of course on the show the people were already pretty fit and dressed sorta provocatively. You don't have to strip, but mostly its like the moves that catch everyone's attention. I dunno that I'd do it myself, but hey....if it helps keep people motivated about health...go for it. Hootie |
