every memory has a song
I'm one of those sappy people who has a song for every memory and every person (especially when it concerns guys). Anyone else like this?:D
|
Yes ma'am! Guess what I am listening to right now? The "ex-b/f" hit list. :p
|
i'm kinda like this too. there are songs that remind me of certain events fro high school, or times with friends...
collective soul's "run"-- this song reminds me of when i was a senior in high school and running for a state FFA office. when all of us officer candidate were in the "holding cell" waiting for our turn in the rounds of interviews we went thorough this one girl (who ended up getting Vice President, then later went on to become a national officer) played a cd with the song on it. whenever i hear it i think if that memorable week. eiffel 65's "blue"-- this song was in, then out so fast. the first time i heard it i was driving my parents explorer around with two of my female friends. we were all freshman in college. one had just gotten implants, aundrea, and everytime we went over a bump she went "ow." lol. we blasted it because we thought it was cool, and danced as we drove. that was one of the last memories i have of random shit with aundrea before she moved away... outkast's "so fresh, so clean"-- my first semester in sd this older girl (yes she is in a sorority, and was president at the time), that i was starting to fall for, played me big time...this song played at the party we first "hooked up" at, and she even sang it to me on the phone one night when it was on the radio in my room and she could hear it through the phone. anyway, this song will forever remind me of my time with kristen... and there are so many more... |
That's me all the way! Here are a few of mine...
"Dance to the Music" by Sly and the Family Stone: reminds me of marching band in high school. We played it ALL THE DAMN TIME! "The Dog Song" by Blink-182: For those of you who don't know the words, it goes "I want to f*ck a dog in the @ss/He wants to f*ck a dog in the @ss/I want to f*ck a dog/That's right, kids" (I don't want to offend anybody, that's just how the song goes :) ) Anyway, so this was our theme song from this year's Spring Break. My friends and I would drive up and down the streets of Ft. Myers Beach blasting this song and singing it at the top of our lungs. All these people gave us the weirdest looks... "call me Al" by Paul Simon: my roommate freshman year and I would listen to this every morning before class. It was our little ritual "The sign" by ace of Base: in 7th grade, when this song came out, my best friend and I spent three straight days of listening to nothing but the song OVER AND OVER AND OVER and that's just the start of it... |
I'm glad i'm not the only one
Haha, I"m glad I'm not the only one. Everyone makes fun of me because i have a song for everything!! lol. I think i even annoy them, haha.
Okay, well that Moulin Rouge song, Lady Marmalade, reminds me of my best friend in AZ. We were goofing off last year in the car singing that song and were laughing sooooo hard. Then we got home and started to lip sync it, scary sight!! Anything by Lifehouseor Shania Twain reminds me of my X...... :D That song by the Verve Pipe, Freshman, reminds me of the summer I was going to be a freshman in high school. I could go on, but I don't think anyone's interested! LOL :p :p |
Life must be very emotional for you if you have a song for most every person...
I've only got a few:
Spoon is the main one to evoke an emotion though... |
yup, that's me
I'm definitely one of those people...
Fishin in the dark and good morning beautiful reminds me most of my ex...though there are more...and yes, he's just as country as me. ;) Crush by DMB is also a "special song" for another "old" man of mine... Wow, this really got me thinking back! Anyway, I associate nearly every song to something, an event or person. Which is kinda awful because when the ex and I broke up I couldn't listen to the radio, but looking back it's kinda nice because they all make you reminisce. Tara |
I hate that songs can have corellation to memories and people. It ruins them sometimes. Especially right now that I'm trying to get over my ex, it's difficult to hear some songs. He burned me a cd a while ago and that's going to be VERY hard to hear those songs...
"Hero" "Brown Eyed Girl" "Not a moment too soon" Etc. |
I agree...
I can totally relate about how relationships can ruin songs. And it makes me mad sometimes how they can ruin something that you liked before--and that goes with anything.

Brian McKnight "Anytime"- Came out my junior year in HS when my boyfriend and me broke up. Every time I hear the song it reminds me of him. Bleh!
Bel Biv Devoe "Poison"- Freshman year in college. Reminds me of the night I met this guy that I ended up cheating on my ex boyfriend with (oops!). The song was playing at the club we were at and it was the first song we danced to. Sharaz "Just Can't Wait"- This was playing when I met my current boyfriend. |
I have a few songs that remind me of people.
Nice and slow by Usher I'm real by J-L0 Any swing music b/c I used to swing dance with my ex I have a movie that reminds me of my ex because it was the first movie we went to. " Ten things I hate about you" the titles not the best but the story is very sweet. |
