What's on your private side?
 

GCers, I hope you can help me on this one and don't think I'm being overly nosy. (That's nebby to all my fellow Pittsburghers ;).)

What's on the private side of your national website? I don't mean exact info of course, but general categories - directories, chapter info, policies, message boards, etc. I'm doing a little website research and this is part of it.

There is none that I know of...

Or maybe it's just REALLY REALLY private and I don't know about it..:eek:

KD's private side is pretty good. I don't consider any of it a secret or anything, just that they would want to restrict it to KD because people's contact info is sometimes included.
We have message boards for alumnae and collegians, a chat room, a find-a-sister option, links to KD clip art, different forms (like recs), and a link to an alumnae newsletter.
Nothing all that exciting. I wish people would utilize it more though.

To the best of my knowledge, the only thing a non-Delt can't look at on our website is the search engine for names, addresses and e-mail addresses for actives and alums.

I was a member of our webteam, so if there's something else there it's pretty darn secret!

I don't think we have any secret stuff on our national website.

These are the categories that I can think of off the top of my head that are included in the members-only portion of the Alpha Gamma Delta Website.

Collegiate/Alumnae Chapter/Club listings and contact information/list of officers
Sister Search-- Chapter and Year of Initiation (email and snail mail addresses are also listed if the member prefers to list it)
Today's Birthdays

Recruitment/Legacy information forms

Message boards, sister contact information, different forms. Nothing that's overly secret.

Like Dani said, the private side on KD's site is pretty nice. The message boards are super helpful! We share recruitment, social, and philanthropy ideas through there. I have got some of "my" best ideas from the site!

Same for AXO -- we also have a calendar of events that will show you your chapter's upcoming calendar. So that's pretty cool.

DZ's "Sisters Only" side of the website is pretty much like what the other GLO's have. We've got our databases with contact info, a special section to order DZ-only jewelry, calendars for officers to look at in order to find out when their reports are due... just stuff like that. Nothing really "secretive." I think it's really more of a way to protect sisters' privacy from any sketchy people who might be trolling around the site. :) It's definitely a safety feature, which is always nice to have.

Phi Beta's "member's only area" is similar to those listed.

• a chapter directory that includes at least the officers of each chapter's contact info.
  
• Official jewelry (badges & etc.)
  
• Forms that each chapter needs to file- not exactly "private" info, but what non-member wants to have to look through that stuff?
  
• Toolbox- a collection of resources for chapter to grow & improve. A lot of it was garnered from public sites & general knowlege, but there's also access to our general new member ed program & some other info that's private.
  

I think there's more, but I can't recall right now.
