making choices in rush
I've read several posts about bid matching and I'm pleased to hear that there's apparently a new kind of bid matching that allows a bigger number of girls to get bids. What I'd like to know is: when a girl doesn't get a bid and is offered a bid from someone she might not have preffed, has that chapter gotten her name from a list of girls without bids or is it usually a girl whom they carried pretty far into rush?
Also, I hear that on many campuses, the girls go to Rush Central directly after parties and rank the sororities, then receive their invitations the next day--their top-ranked choices, they hope, but they might get , say, choices 1, 3, and 5 on a 3-party day instead of the first 3. Is that pretty much the rule now? And does "decline with interest" mean "I'm cutting you now but will accept an invitation if my top choices don't ask me back?" Oops--I think I posted this to Greek Life instead of Rush--sorry. Thanks!!! |

A potential member would not get offered a bid from a group not on her card, unless she did not match bids with any of her selections AND they contacted her to ask if she would accept a bid from another house. Quote:
