Big Bro howto

I am looking for direction on how to be a good Big Bro. There really is not too much literature on how to be a good bro. Just some advice ideas. Maybe even suordinate rituals taht one could do to encourage togetherness. Especially if you get a little bro that you do not know that well, but he needs one.

In my opinion the best way to be a good big brother is to be your little brothers friend. Do things with him, anything from watching TV to hanging out at functions. Make sure he knows his stuff but do it because you love your fraternity and you want him to love it to. Try to convey the love you have for you organization to him so that he may develop it. In my opinon that's how to be a good big brother...that and always be there for him...no matter what!

The only thing I can suggest, is to lead by example. If you are a good mentor, he will grow into a good person. However, if you sit in the bars 5 nights a week and earn a 1.78 GPA, he more than likely will take his college career less serious.

Maybe I should also mention that this is for more of the other brothers in my chapter. I am going to me the Member Education CHair this Fall and I want to really have direction to give to the brothers who are having a diffucult time with their little brothers.

Big/little tag team wrestling tournament!!! Or just hang out. But don't force him to hang out with you. You hang out with him. Like, you don't have to like the same things but if he is into video games then play a little with him, even if its not your thing or just chill while he plays or whatever. But don't make him do stuff if he is a quiet person.
