Convention Stories
Hello Ladies,
I was just wondering if any of you lovely ladies who got to go convention could fill the rest of us GC'ers in on what happened there. (I was stuck in Nor Cal at my parents house with a broken leg and couldn't go.) Any stories that you could share would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope you had fun! It was hot hot hot!
Since I was attending as a visitor instead of as a delegate I spent the meeting times floating in the garden pool. That was nice. I loved that pool! Luckily my room wasn't too far from the lobby or pool. Good thing too. I felt like I would pass out from dehydration just from walking back and forth. I kept my ears open for familiar names from Greekchat. I couldn't believe that I didn't run into Wren at all. :( One of the most memorable things was that during brunch the fire alarms were triggered by the omlette stations. The next day the breakfast guest speaker was a cutie fireman to talk about fire safety. :o How ironic!:o The 2004 convention will be held in Cincinatti. I hope to see ya'll there! |
i went too, but didnt stay at the resort, because a sister lives in scottsdale. lets see.....i was sitting in back of some old school alums(like 80-90yrs old) at intiation and we were sitting there for a while. it was dead silent and the alum said to the other alum very loudly,"i guess she didnt want to be a sigma kappa!" all of us collegiates started to giggle, because she tried to whisper but everyone around her heard her loud and clear. as we checked in we got a black sk tote bag w/ a water bottle(very cute) oh yeah...my president said that the young gentlemen who worked at the resort called up all their guy friends and told them that 700 sigma kappas were going to be staying there for their sorority convention and the guys would come in the evening at chit chat with all our sisters! very funny. i just cant wait for the next one in ohio
