WHICH ONE IS YOURE FAVORITE?
LIVING AFTER MIDNIGHT! :o |
OOPSSSSS I FORGOT MINE IS MOUSAKA!

Definitely pastitsio; I don't care much for eggplant. The greek food I really find myself craving, though, is avgolemano (egg and lemon soup) Yummmmmm! :)
I love Greek food :) PS I think this thread is more of a "Chit Chat" topic |

I LOVE Mousaka! here was a KILLER recipe' in Cosmo (mid 70's) and when I say a Cosmo recipe, you know it was for the entire night, right down to the grapes! LOL!
The Bechemel (sp???) sauce was to die for. I lost it though. :( |
I've never heard of either one? Explain please?

Here's a breakdown of the Greek dishes. Pasticho is a greek version of lasagna with one of the differences being no tomato paste is put on the pasta itself. Mousaka is dish composed of eggplant and meat. justamom I did some research and found a website for you in case you needed a mousaka recipe http://www.travel-greece.com/recipes For the vote I'm a pasticho fan. But let's not forget saganaki and a good bottle of Ouzo. Yiasou! wrigley |
Pastitsio Or Mousaka!
This REAL Greek prefers pastitsio.
Kali orexi! |
Hee hee hee, my favorite is pastitsio, hands down!!! I just wish it didn't take me 3 hours to make it, or I would make it more often.
Also agree, this is more of a chit-chat topic. |
OOOO neither--my fav is Spanikopita!!!
but of the 2, I'd say pistichio. :) |
Amycat,
PM me for an AMAZING spanakopita recipe straight from my yiayia. My hubby, an avowed spinach-hater, will eat this pita by the bushel. |
I live in a Greek neighborhood with some great Greek restaurants, and I have never tried either. I do like lamb though. YUMMY! :D
|
Thanks wrigley! I HATED losing that recipe!
