These are a Few of my Favorite Things
 

Yes, I took that title from "The Sound of Music" soundtrack. I just thought it would be fun to learn about all of us by posting some of our likes. What are your favorites? Also, feel free to add other catagories that I did not list.

Cuisine/ foods- Chinese food, I'm totally addicted to it! pizza, and Thai
Favorite childrens' book as a child- Shel Silverstein, "Where the Sidewalk Ends"
Favorite book as an adult-
Movie- "Father of the Bride" the one with Steve Martin, not the sequel though.
Actor/ Actress- Robin Williams, Billy Crystal
Pets/ animals- Cats tied with squirrels, of course!
Color- I have always liked purple since I was little. Now I love all the "jewel tones" (ie. bright pink, aqua, deep red etc....)
Store- Rich's, because the always have what I am looking for.
Disney movies- Hey, no one is ever too old! Aladin, Lion King, Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast.
Musical theater and/or live play- "Cats", "Mama Mia"
Musical artist- I like several because I have diverse taste. I would say Jimmy Buffet.

Cuisine/ foods- Japanese...I have a weakness for poke--raw fish prepared with sesame seed and soy sauce--even though I'm allergic to seafood.

Sorry, couldn't help myself. Here it goes....

Cuisine/Food: Chicken and Cheesecake are my fave foods. I swear I have probably tried over 15 different cheesecakes. As far as cuisine its a tie between Chinese and Italian.

Favorite Children's Book: The Babysitter's Club (I think I have about 150), Sweet Valley Twins/High/University, Nancey Drew, Pistachio Presciption and Dear God, Its Me Margaret (we mus, we must, we must increase our bust). Big time reader when I was younger.

Favorite Adult Book: Any Jane Austen book especially Pride and Prejudice. The Handmaid's Tale, Age of Innocence, Beloved, How The Garcia Girls Got Their Accents, and I hate to admitt it but sometimes I'm a sucker for a Harlquinn novel.

Movie: I dont have any particular one.

Actor/Actress: Vivica A. Fox, Julia Roberts, and Sandra Bullock. Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Morgan Freedman.

Pets/Animals: Any kind of Retriever. Oh wait...and squirrels (just got a beenie baby one)!

Color: Pink, Purple, and Blue. My clothes are nothign but these pretty much and Black, White and Gray.

Store: I am a 100% certified shopaholic, so give me any store and Im good ;) but Id say Express, Lerners/NY and Co., JCrew, Old Navy, Target, and Rave/G+G.

Disney Movie: The Parent Trap (old one) and Freaky Friday (old one).

Musical Theatre: Chicago, 42nd Street, Fiddler On The Roof and Damn Yankees. I was a dance major at my HS, so Im a big fan or Broadway shows.

Musical Artist: John Mayer, 112, Craig David, Michelle Branch and... can't do it, Im a music fan all around :)

Favorite Drink: Pepsi/Apple Juice

Favorite Adult Book: Hmmm, too many to choose! I adore all Jane Austen novels, especially "Pride and Prejudice" and "Emma." I also loved "Like Water for Chocolate" and my big summer read right now is "Gone With the Wind."

Movie(s): When Harry Met Sally, Steel Magnolias, The Wizard of Oz, The Princess Bride, My Fair Lady, Shawshank Redemption, Driving Miss Daisy, Emma, Pride and Prejudice (the BBC miniseries). Too many to list!

Actor/Actress: Don't really have any, although I've noticed that Morgan Freeman and Reese Witherspoon rarely make bad choices in movie roles.

Pets/Animals: Do you all really not know this? Pumpkin, of course! And squirrels, too. :)

Color(s): Red, dark blue...(buff and green are up there too)

Store(s): So many shops, so little time. ;) I can always find cute things at Macy's for work attire, Express and The Gap for casual wear. My heart always skips a beat when I make a Target run, you could very easily leave me at Barnes and Noble all day, and wild horses can't drag me away from any nice jewelry store.

Disney Movie(s): I loved "Aladdin", "The Little Mermaid", and "Robin Hood."

Musical Theatre: Les Miserables, and My Fair Lady

Musical Artist(s): Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Elton John are what I would take if I was stranded on a desert island, but my tastes are actually very eclectic and you'd be surprised at all the genres you would find in our collection! It looks schizophrenic.

Favorite Drink(s): Coke and Lemonade for non-alcoholic drinks, a Bellini for alcoholic ones.

Collections: old Alpha Gamma Delta publications, squirrels, classic Winnie the Pooh, and books in general.

Favorite Car/SUV: I really couldn't care less, as long as it has 4 wheels, runs well, and gets me where I want to go! ;)

Favorite Sport: Ummm, does channel-surfing count as a sport? :D

Maria you Rock! I absolutely loved the BBC's version of Pride and Prejudice. After we read the book for English it came on TV and since I liked the book so much I though I'd watch it. I was glued to my TV the whole time.

And no channel surfing does not count as a sport :D

To answer other ones I didnt get to do...

Worst Habit: Forgetting things, such as keys and wallet. Also my lil sailor mouth. It has gotten wayyy better and I rarely do it, but when I get around a close friend of mine every other word out of our mouth's is profanity. We get wild around each other, but bring out the best 99% of the time :). It is unattractive though.

Favorite Alcoholic Drink:
Weak- Cranberry and Malibu
Tart- Any of the sours (Tom Collins, Amaretto, Vodka and Whiskey)
Shots- Irish Car Bomb

What is in a Bellini, Maria??

Oh and If you're thinking about trying the Captain Morgan Gold, you'll be somewhat disappointed in my opinion.

A really good Bellini is made of dry champagne and a peach blended together. Most places will just use champagne and a shot of peach schnapps, though. It is refreshing and oh-so-yummy!!! You must try it and tell me if you like it. :)

As for bad habits, I have a tendency to procrastinate. I also have noticed that I'm starting to lapse into potty-mouth, and I HATE that. When I was a collegiate, some of my sisters used to apologize to me when they used bad language in front of me. Oh, how shocked they would be to hear some of the things that have been coming out of my mouth lately! :eek: LOL

Cuisine/Food: Italian... I live for pasta and garlic and olive oil... however, I'm also highly addicted to crab legs and doughnuts

Favorite Children's Book: this book called "Bonhomme"... it always made me cry when i was a little girl, but I loved it regardless.

Favorite Adult Book: "White Oleander" by Janet Fitch, "She's Come Undone" by Wally Lamb, "Boy Still Missing" by John Searles

Favorite Food Just about anything. I do have to say though I hate anything that lives in the water! They remind me of large cockroaches! I do have to confess that I do like tuna though, but only in tuna salad sandwhiches, and only b/c my mom told me growing up that it was canned chicken...:eek:

Favorite Childrens book I have to say I have a tie. Dr Suess' Cat in the Hat and Make Way for Duckings. Actually I think I like the Make Way for Ducklingst eh best cuz there actually is a swan ride and a statue of the Ducklings in Boston!!! I recommend it to children of ages 1-99!!!

Favorite Adult Book This changes constantly!! Right now my favorite is the Hobbit.

Movies Lord of the Rings, A Few Good Men, Steel Magnoilias, Space Balls, and (I know I am gonna get heat for this!!) Animal House.

Actor/Actress Julia Roberts, Tom Hanks...I am SOO waiting for them to work together!!
