change name of forum
 

since rush is no longer pc for Greeks shouldn't we change the forum to recruitment?????

I know this topic was discussed a while back before, but from what I understand, the National Panhellenic Conference is the only organization that encourages the use of "Recruitment" and not "Rush". I know that the term "Rush" is still used by other organizations out there.

Perhaps "Rush/Recruitment" is more appropriate?

Still, I find myself using the word "Rush" even when I'm not supposed to.

Well, the boys still call it rush, don't they? And the NPHC groups call it "intake" (I think, correct me if I'm wrong). Rush might not be PC but at least we all know what it means.

I just can't make myself call it "Recruitment". I've tried and tried, but it will always be "Rush" to me!

Speaking of requests, GC should have a "suggestion forum" like some other message boards do.

Actually, our IHQ encourages the use of recruitment... But you go to the national events and everyone still has Rush t-shirts...

Whenever we speak with national advisors and colonies and such we always say "recruitment":D

who really cares? who is so set on calling it recruitment? i think that it is a bunch of bull shit. it's rush-always has been.

isn't part of greek life all abut traditions???? so why change the name of rush?

Amen. I'm so sick of all the name changes. What's the point? Most of us are going to call it what we want anyway.

I have asked before to have the name of the forum changed. I will address it with John again.

As far as the change in the public purview - the change happened about 10 years ago, so it's not a recent change.

While NPC might call it "recruitment" there are local groups/systems and up and coming locals that still refer to it as "rush." As much as this forum might seem like it at times it is not all about what NPC does.

I'm with you Tracy...I personally think recruitment sounds like we are trying to get people to join the military or a cult.
