how do BGLO's sororities rush?
i have researched on several black sororites and i am comfortable with the history of each. i am however interested in mainly one. i know that there is an informational meeting that is sort of like a rush but that is about it. what kind of stuff do you need to know about this information to get ready? what am i suppose to wear? what kinds of questions can i expect? some responses back will be helpful

Muldoon,
Since you are primarily interested in one specific sorority, you might want to post your questions to the forum for that sorority. I've seen many prospectives post questions such as these to the boards and I know at least one group, DST, has a prospectives FAQ on their forum in this site. ------------------ Fraternally, Barbara Zeta Tau Alpha Alumna If you have to go around telling everyone you're in charge you're not much of a leader. It's best to ask the chapter's members about their rush process...
I would say that you should go to rush... One note of advice is don't wear any color that could easily be associated with another org. like Red if you're rushing AKA, or Yellow if you're Delta... Stick to low key Black, Grey, and Navy...that's my advice. Each org does it differently but try to go in with an open mind. |
Peace & Blessings
Muldoon, we no longer "Rush," persee. I can only speak for my organization, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc and we do have an informational. That's where you can find out the highlights of the Sisterhood, meet the members, etc. We do not require that you wear a specific color but, Ice Cold Kreator's suggestion is on point...stick to neutral colors. You do not want to walk up into a Sorority informational wearing their colors...it doesn't make a good first impression. You also want to make sure that you're wearing business attire. The informational is to be treated just like a job interview. The only question that I have ever asked when I conducted informationals is "Do you have any questions?" Here's a question for you--do you mind elaborating on "being comfortable with our history?" I'm not clear on that and frankly, it(the intonation) doesn't come across very well. Thank you I hope that this information helps. --------------------------------------------- SapphireSensation RoyalBlueDivaDivine The Epitome of Finerwomanhood |

informational is just that a place to go to get to know information about the org and that chapter "rush" is a no turning back point. It means you really want to be a part of this organization and are not looking for just info anymore. |
