Dress for Pref

i have a little question about pref night during formal rush. i heard some people say that you have to wear a long dress, and i was wondering if it's a long dress like one you would wear for prom or a more caual one? i know each sorority might do it differently, but i was curious as to how it was done in your sorority. thanks for the help.

honeybee,**BTW, great name!**

it depends on your school and what your rush adivisor or rho chi tells you is appropriate. at my pref night, the girls mainly wore either nice dressed, black pants and some random designer shirt...i dunno. i wore a long flowy black skirt with a really pretty bebe top...i think it was deep purple with light purple trim, and black shoes. something like that. i know for sure that it has to be dressy, and that you have to be quite formal. you'll see when you get there!

Honeybee, at the school I pledged at, it should be a nice dress, long or short. But if someone showed up in something as fancy as what they would wear to the prom, I think everyone would die laughing. No offense or anything, but it would be like they were trying WAY too hard. But I'm sure this varies from campus to campus. You probably already have something in your closet that's suitable, so wait until rush. They will tell you.

don't wear your prom dress, please!

at my school, everyone wore short cocktail-type dresses. most chose something simple and sleek, never anything frilly or cinderella-y! make sure whatever you wear is modest, not too much cleavage or leg.
