Fake Students?! College Perps?!
Hi everyone!
Have you ever met anyone who said that they went to your school, but they didn't? Or went to one school that you have friends at, but they had never heard of him/her? That happens to me all the time. |
Maybe it's just a lame excuse for a conversation?
them- "Hi, how you doin'?" you-"i'm fine" them- Where do you go to school?" you- "U of...." them- "no way, me too...lets go to my apartment?" |
We have a problem of weirdos and homeless people hanging out on our campus. There is this one dude who is mildly retarded and he is EVERYWHERE. He shows up at major events on campus and just about anything where food is involoved. We have another homeless man who stays in the library all day on the internet and parks his bike with all of his worldly possessions on it out front. The homeless man goes so far as to carry a backpack around campus.

They let him do this? Do you go to a public or private school? |
A friend of mine was working the door (checking ID's etc) at his MIT fraternity party when the following transpired. (At the time, open parties were still allowed - you just had to be a college student to get in - any college was ok.)
Fraternity brother (B): Can I see your college ID? Kid trying to get into party (K): Um, I forgot it. B: Well, what school do you go to? K: MIT. B: (skeptical) What year are you? K: I'm a freshman. B: OK, what classes are you taking? K: Um... physics, calculus... By this time, warning bells are going off in B's head. MIT courses are referred to by number, not name. B: You don't go to MIT. Get outta here. K: OK - the truth is I was accepted to MIT, but turned it down. B: Yeah, where do you go to school? K: (names another school in the Boston area) B: You got ID from there? K: Yes. (pulls it out) B: (checks it) OK, get your butt inside. K had apparently thought you had to be an MIT student to get in. B should have sent the kid away on principle... On another occasion, a similar kid had actually memorized the course numbers of some of the freshman core classes, so when asked what classes he was taking, he was able to rattle off a typical freshman course load. Unfortunately for him, he didn't memorize what each course actually was... |
I find that people are students, but at community college, and not at a university such as USF, FSU and UF. It's like, when people say they go to school in Tallahassee or Gainesville, you automatically think of these big schools, but in truth, a lot of them go to TCC or Santa Fe CC. Same way here with HCC. They are students, but just not at the school you assume. And they don't bother correcting you either, because they figure you will never find out!
