Our hearts go out to Pi Phi
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends and sisters of Alexandra Kemp.
I understand she just completed her Freshman year at Kansas State University where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Father Asks For Public's Help In Finding Daughter's Killer Man Seen Near Pool-Murder Site Posted: 5:23 p.m. CDT June 19, 2002 Updated: 8:13 a.m. CDT June 20, 2002 LEAWOOD, Kan. -- A grieving father pleaded for the public's help in finding the person who killed his 19-year-old daughter Tuesday at a neighborhood pool. Roger Kemp talked with KMBC's Larry Moore Wednesday about the killer and how he would like the public to help police. "She was brutally murdered yesterday afternoon by an individual that I want to turn himself in, and do the only manly thing he has probably done in his whole life. We have a description of that individual, and you will be caught," Kemp said. "I'm asking for everyone here in Kansas City to please call the police. I do not want this ever to happen, by this person, this individual, again in this city to anyone's child." Victim's Father Makes Plea What's The Latest In The Investigation? KMBC's Peggy Breit reported that a metro squad of 24 police officers is looking for a man who was seen a few hours before Ali Kemp (pictured, left) was found dead in the pool's pump house. Kemp was on duty at her neighborhood pool. Relatives found her body Tuesday evening about 5 p.m., and police said there were signs of a struggle where her body was found. Police have not said how Kemp died or whether she was sexually assaulted. Police are looking for a man who was seen in the area near the pool about 2:30 p.m. by groundskeepers and other witnesses. He is described as a white male in his 30s who is 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall. He has short brown hair and was possibly wearing a blue jumpsuit. The man may show signs of a struggle, such as scratches and bruises, investigators said. He was driving a light blue or beige '80s Ford pickup truck. Witnesses said they did not have any license plate information about the man's vehicle. Kemp, 19, was a graduate of Blue Valley North High School. She had just finished her first year at Kansas State University, Breit reported. If you have information, call the Leawood Police Department at (913) 642-7700 or the TIPS Hotline at (816) 474-TIPS. |

Having lived in teh KC Metro area my whole life for the most part, I follow this Murder Closely.
It is a sad state of affairs that this happens to a young lady who is well respected by all in the Community! Being an ex-police officer I hope and feel that they will find the killer. It just takes time. My heartfelt wishes and prayers go out to Her Family and Her Pi Phi Sisters. I hang my head in sorrow because of some of the senseless things that people do to each other! |
Such a horrible thing!! I hope they catch whomever did this! My sympathy to all the Pi Phi sisters, especially at KSU.

How awful! My eyes are filled with tears right now. My deepest sympathies are with Alexandra's family, friends, and her Pi Phi sisters. :(
