Can anyone tell me about Hartford, CT?
 

I will be going to Hartford, CT in two weeks. What can you tell me about it? Good places to stay? Eat? Hang out?

Ever been to a concert at Meadows Music Theater?

Please advise. :)

I am going to Hartford for the opening date of Rush's tour. Can't wait! I was hoping someone knew of some cool places to hang out (maybe catch some rays) before the concert.

I go to the hartford, there really isnt much to do here. A couple of good bars if you wanted to do that. But hartford really is not all that exciting but if u want pm and i can help u with more

I have never been to CT, but I had an idea...since you are an Alpha Phi, maybe you could jump on over to the Alpha Phi webpage here...

They have an alumnae chapter in Greater Hartford,
Connecticut. (Alas, no collegiate APhi chapter!)

Maybe you could email the alumnae chapter in Connecticut and introduce yourself, and let them know that you are an Alpha Phi Collegian coming to the area to visit and do they have any suggestions as for "must do's" while you visit Hartford?
I am sure that the ladies would have lots of suggestions for you?!
Some might even volunteer to show you around!? You never know!

Sorry, I didn't see this thread until now. I have a sister in school at Amherst College, which is about 40 minutes outside Hartford. Hartford, CT is the closest airport so I've been there, but haven't done anything too exciting. If you want to drive a little, my favorite town around there is Northampton (where Smith College is located). It has the CUTEST restaurants and bars. For Easter we went out to the restaurant at the Old Book Mill which is northwest of Amherst. It is the cutest place (there is a fabulous book store and the restaurant looks out over teh river and is amazing)!

Zagat also has a Connecticut guide. It might be a good way to find fun places and read accurate reviews.
