I remember a song I learned in 5th grade camp. Basically you take any nursery rhyme, and then add "...and through her out the window/the window/the second story window/With a heave and a ho, and a mighty blow/they through her out the window." K, it sounds weird now... but the kids'll love it!

Ex: Lil Miss Muffet sat on her tuffet, eating her curds and whey. Along came a spider that sat down beside her... And through her out the window, the window, the second story window. With a heave and a ho, and a mighty blow, they through her out the window.

Good luck!

There are a few websites with GREAT lists of Girl Scout songs and lyrics for them -- I know this because I was recently trying to find the words for The Crawdad Song. Try these:

Have fun!

Baby Shark is good.

"Baby Shark Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo, Baby Shark...."
"Mama Shark...."

I don't know how to describe it, but it's fun and has hand motions.

That reminds me of a song I learned at the National Leadership Camp at Siena College in 1994. Or maybe I learned it when I was a Counselor in 1998. At any rate, we just took nursery rhymes and huh! Made them funky now!

Little miss muffet, sat on a tuffett,
Eating her curds and HUH!
Along came a spider and sat down beside her and
HUH! Ain't that funky now?

I can't remember the chorus we did in between rhymes. . .maybe it was ooochie wallie wallie. . .or Mo-ther goose, mo-mo-ther goose now. . .

Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of HUH!
Jack fell down and broke his crown and-
HUH! Ain't that funky now?

etc, etc

Baby Bumblebee

Before I share this song, I'd like to send a shout out to Jillian Requiza, a 1995 or 96 grad of Fayetteville-Manlius High School in upstate New York, who taught it to me, now I'm teaching it to y'all!

I'm playing with my baby bumblebee
Won't my Mama be so proud of me?
I'm playing with my baby bumblebee--
Ow! It stung me!

I'm squishing up my baby bumblebee
Won't my Mama be so proud of me?
I'm squishing up my baby bumblebee--
Ew! I made a mess!

I'm licking up my baby bumblebee
Won't my Mama be so proud of me?
I'm licking up my baby bumblebee--
Ew! I don't feel so good!

I'm throwing up my baby bumblebee
Won't my Mama be so proud of me?
I'm throwing up my baby bumblebee--
Ah! I feel better!

I'm flushing down my baby bumblebee
Won't my Mama be so proud of me?
I'm flushing down my baby bumblebee--
SWISSSSHHHHH!

This isn't a song but . . . I seem to recall a game from Girl Scout camp that I used to play. The game involved claping in rhythm and counting backwards from 100. Every girl but one started with a partner. The partnerless girl goes in the middle. She then (as quickly as she can) takes someone elses partner and the girl without a partner has to go find someone new. I think we also had a rule that you had to run to the middle of the circle first. When the group gets to zero you can have them yell something like "count down" or "bam". The girl caught in the middle then loses and starts the next game in the middle. This was a favorite game and we played it EVERY morning while waiting for the colors to be raised. Hope this helps!

I thought of another one! I don't know what age group you're working with but the kids at my day care love this one!

To the rhythm of 5 little monkeys jumping on the bed:

5 Little Monkeys Swinging from a Tree

5 little monkeys swinging from a tree
Teasing Mr. Crocodile, "can't catch me!" (put your thumbs near your ears and wiggle your fingers)
(whispering)Along comes Mr. Crocodile as quiet as can be (put your hands together and move them like a fish swimming through water)
(shouting, snap hands and arms together like crocodile jaws) SNAP, GOTCHA!

Also, to the tune of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star

Aligator long and grean,
You're the meanest thing I've seen.
Sitting on a hollow log,
Trying to catch a big fat frog.
Alligator long and green,
You're the meanest thing I've seen!
