My new job!!
Hi ladies,
I'm so excited I wanted to share. I was accepted to be an Official Language monitor in Quebec for next school year! Well I already knew I was accepted but all the info just came in the mail...Lots of manuals and books. I'm hoping this will be a great experience! Teaching English to highschoolers in Quebec! yay! The sad part is I'll be more than a 13 hour drive away from my sisters! :( ok, i gotta go and look through my stuff now. Yipee!!! Jen |
YAY!!
Congratulations from one Jen to another!!
sorry to crash your board! I'm pretty sure that a friend of mine did something like that a few years ago at McGill, & now he's teaching English in Japan & earning some great $$$ :) Out of curiousity - how do you become an Official Language monitor? what does it all involved? sounds interesting! Thanks for the support! I can't wait to go...but I'm nervous too.
CanadaJen: I heard of the Monitor program at school...in our french dept. there was a part time monitor. So I took a look at the brochure and applied for a full time position. I thought I did horrible in the interview since I totally went blank when they told me to explain English Canadian culture, speaking in French..... I'll be doing more Lab type work than teaching, which I like, since teaching a whole class isn't my thing. here's their website if you're interested: http://www.cmec.ca/olp/index_eng_swf.htm |
