I've heard it's sort of similar to giving blood...I'll go do a little a little research...I'd rather do anything than study the geologic time scale for my test tomorrow! :D

I hear giving plasma is pretty painful.... As I understand they pump blood out of your arm filter the plasma out of it and then return it. You sit there for I think 2+ hours.... I may be confusing that with platelets.

Anyhow I'm certain it's painful.. but free cookies!!

lol, maybe that's why I thought to myself, "I can't do that!" But I just have a low thresh hold for pain...I haven't been able to bring myself to donate blood yet. I was so going to during Greek Week, b/c the van was right in our driveway, and I psyched myself up for it, but by the time I got to the house for chapter that day, the van was gone. I'll get it next time!

Anyway, I have yet to look up stuff on plasma, but I'll do it asap, prob. this evening...til then, brainstorm more easy cash ideas! Lord knows with all the fall activities coming up (like littles) it would be nice to have a little more moolah.

money and littles

I know that i certainly want to have an abundance of $$ to spend on my little!! Its the first time i am going through rush on the other side.. and besides littles,. we get other types of sisters that we buy little gifts for. How much does it all usually cost.. 200-300?

$200-300 sounds about right.

A good number of my friends have given plasma. You have to get a physical the first time you go in and pass certain tests but in all honesty you don't have to be in that great of shape...just don't get high before you go in. You can do it two times a week and it's not very much like donating blood, really. Here you get paid around $40 each time you do it, so it can turn into good money. Personally I would never do it as my parents have said if I start selling my blood they'd just let me do it all the time and pay for my bills that way....hence I'm not selling it. The first time you go in, it is a long process...here it's 4 hrs, but after that it is significantly shorter though I'm not sure how long. They do pump the blood back into you, but I hear that's the best part when you feel the slightly cooler blood in your veins...it supposedly feels neat.

and it's not very painful

parents

In Tallahassee you can do it at the Seramed Bio Center on Tennessee Street. I never did it while I was at FSU but knew plenty of people who did. The Bio Center is right by the Blockbuster. My roommate donated plasma a couple times and also worked as a phlebotomist there for a while. You definitely won't be the only college student there...she said it there were always a lot students looking for cash :)

HaHaHa

It's practically right in the middle of campus for us. Not really, but you do pass it between parking and the classrooms ;)

also...it brings all the homeless crak-addicts to campus, but hey....you know they have no real money and they're still supporting their crack habit from donating so it must be a decent ammount!
