Sleepovers
Our sorority started something new this year. We are having a sleepover at the end of the semester at a sister's house for no particular reason...just to have it. Anyway, the only mandatory sleepover that we have is the night before initiation. That night consists of some mandatory stuff we do with our new members before they are initiated...it doesn't take much planning. We do the same stuff every year...it's a blast, but we don't want to do the same stuff at our mandatory sleepover that we want to do at our end of the semester sleepover. We're looking for some fun stuff that you guys do when you have a chapter sleepover.

One of my favorite things to do at a chapter sleepover is singing the songs not found in your official songbook (ifyaknowwhatimean).
Pamper nights are also fun...there's nothing like getting your face in a mud mask...getting your nails done...the works!--with your sisters. |
Pillow fights

We break into family teams and do skits. That is always fun. We do a big-lil pajama contest to see who can find the cutest PJ
's. We do a DZ history trivia thing. Purse scavenger hunt (only things in your purse can count). Sometimes we play "I never" but not the drinking game. We do the thing where you have to find a chair and whoever doesn't is it. We have teams in charge of each meal, like breakfast lunch and dinner. We do a thing where you have sheet of facts and you have to guess who the fact is about and write their name down and then whoever has the most points wins. Sometimes we watch movies. Ummm...we sing the "other" songs too :) |
Sleepovers are the best!! Me and my roomie back in school had a couple with our lil sisters, it was such a bonding time. :)
Our whole chapter had one during Spirit Week (week before rush) and it was a good time to forget about the upcoming parties, and just do girlie stuff. (Fix hair, nails, do each other's make up.....pillow fights - JUST KIDDING about the last one!;)) |
I was so sad this year, as I realize that my chapter will not likely ever have a sleepover again. Sleepover at inish was never mandatory, but we usually did...last year only 4 of 10 stayed over...this year noone did! as an alum I helped the advisor book the cottage we usually go to, but none of the girls wanted to stay!!! I was totally upset...esp since it cut down on our time together (eg. no skits)
Oh well, traditions change....but I just loved those sleepovers. One thing I always liked doing at sleepovers was "something Special' everyone brings something(picture, jewelry, teddy bear, etc) and talks about it...you really learn a lot about each other sounds sappy but it really is interesting |
