Frat Punch
Hey guys.. I wanna know something. What the hell in in that frat punch????
My friend kyle woudnt tell me, i asked him sober and drunk. So it is something really bad? |
I don't know about the "frat punch" your refering to. It's probably either really bad or they just want you to think that.
One of our fraternities throws a huge Buffalo Bash every year. They have this huge... vat of Hairy Buffalo (which consists of lots of stuff, liquor + fruit punch/juice basically). It could be something similar to that? ------------------ SilverTurtle@greekchat.com Phi Beta Fraternity Phi chapter |
you friend probably won't tell you (and I'm guessing that's he's in a fraternity) because the recipe is only known to members.

On the campus at which I attend school, frat punch is very popular. I was warned about it my freshman year also. Each frat has their own type of punch,i.e.( Kappa's=Nupe juice, Alpha's=jungle juice, and Que's= omega oil) My boyfriend and cousin are both Kappa's and neither will tell me what is in the juice, they just tell me not to drink it. I have heard plenty of stories of girls getting intoxicated on the juice and as with any alcoholic beverage, doing things they regretted in the morning. I say, if you have to try it, as I must admit I did, just drink as if you would any other alcoholic beverage, RESPONSIBLY. Peace.

well, now, it's a little hard to drink frat punch responsibly. I've had Omega Oil. I KNOW there's LOTS of alcohol in it, but it tastes EXACTLY like straight grape kool-aid, no lie, and you don't realize how much alcohol you're drinking because, as i said before, you don't know the recipe.
For example, let's say a person can have 4 drinks (4 ounces of alcohol each) without getting a buzz. it's POSSIBLE for that same person to become heavily intoxicated from 4 ounces of Omega Oil. True, we can say drink responsibly, but how many 18 year olds (male or female) at their frist frat party away from mom & dad are going to do that? That's why, way back when i was a peer counselor in college, i say if you're going to drink, wait 10 minutes between each drink so it cn have time to go through you system and you can see whether or not you're ready for another one immediately. if the room starts spinning after one drink, sit your tail down and drink WATER (LOL) Quote:

I remember back in the 80's when we could still have parties with common source, we were renowned for our "Creekwater" (pronounced krikwater) parties. It was developed by a brother who was a chemistry major and it tasted just like lemonade!

when i was in college, they called it hunch punch and get this, it was something that they only gave to the female students. i had it a few times and it taste just like kool aid but it apprently was loaded with alcohol. can you say hang over??????? anyway if you do drink it, i suggest that you make sure that you have a reliable ride home and that it is with someone that you trust!!!!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif

They might be using grain alcohol, which, when it's mixed into a drink, is tasteless. It is a very powerful alcohol and is even illegal in several states. I know it isn't allowed in VA. I've had many drinks that were made with grain alcohol, and I have never been able to taste it. I do know MANY people who have gotten extremely sick because they didn't realize that grain was in the drink so they drank a lot. Please be careful with that stuff, you could down a whole bottle and not even know it.

From what I've seen, it's just anything that's around at the time (or cheap). I've never heard of an actual recipe.
