Public Relation Ideas

I have been public relations chair of my chapter for almost two years now, and i was wondering if anyone had any good ideas for good pr. I have a bunch but they are getting kind of old. So please let me know if you have any good ideas for me. Thanks so much

Obviously some of the easy ones are coverage of your philanthropy during the school year by the campus paper and if your philanthropy is something that is huge local coverage. Here's an article that my chapter got in our campus newspaper. http://www.dailynebraskan.com/vnews/...4?in_archive=1 It's not very well written but it accomplishes the goal.

Maybe an in-depth article about your Housemother if she is particularly wonderful (or at least above average)...check out the article about my own housemother: http://greekchat.com/gcforums/showth...threadid=15953

thank you notes

Energizer-

GLOs are very involved with serving the community through various service projects and philanthropies. So the next time your chapter goes out of its way to help an agency in the community or a national non-profit organization, ask the beneficiary to send a thank you note to your school president or chancellor so that the administrators really understand what good work you are doing.

Personally, I think, along the lines of what Betarulz said, philanthropy is the way to go. SO often it is overlooked too, but with acknowledgement and attention, sometimes that is the best way to be positively recognized. :)

It never even occurred to me to do that. Only after meeting with an ADMINISTRATOR from a local University did I realize that would be a great idea. :o

Get together with other PR chairs from different GLO's, and have a carnival ran by all greeks, on campus at the beginning of the year. It will cost too much money if your chapter did it by yourselves. Very good PR! At least in my observation.

Just a word of advice...

MOST college newspapers are starved for information. If you submit a story about something good that you did for the community (or better yet the school) they'll almost be guaranteed to print it.
