I'm glad someone finally brought this up.

I am not big, but I am totally cool with those who are. I try not to judge people by outward appearance, especially something like weight. Also, I do not believe that heavy=unattractive and thin=attractive. It ALL depends on how someone CARRIES themselves.

IMO I find it very appalling on how mainstream culture emphasizes thiness in FEMALES. Come on it's 2002! It's attitudes like that hold us back as women. And, it is not going to change until someone puts their foot down.

But I get sick of fat comments from SOME college age guys (and not all of them greek) Size, like age is nothing but a number.

Ok, ladies I had to chime in because what kills me is our socieity that puts TONS of pressure on women to conform to what the mainstream THINKS is beautiful (slim, blonde, etc. ).....but yet, for some reason it is ok for men to go around looking like "who did it and why"...... :mad: (big gut, out of shape,etc.)

I don't consider 150 pounds to be heavy. There are plenty of people who are over 150 and a lot of their weight is made up of muscle. Like Dionysus said, it's about how you carry yourself. It shouldn't be about how much someone weighs, but whether they're healthy and feel good about themself.

i've seen some bigger girls that i thought were beautiful, and i've seen some girls with great bodies that i wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, cause they look like they got hit by the ugly stick. also, attitude is everything. i know a lady who has always been fairly big, but she ALWAYS had a boyfriend growing up, sometimes they were practically lining up at the door.

personally, there's a wide range of sizes and body types of girls that i find attractive. it depends on the case by case basis.

I struggled with my weight when I was smaller, and I'm still not underweight, but I'm not overweight either... I'm perfect for my body type... But I have always had crushes and fallen for bigger guys... I LOVE CHUBBY GUYS! :-)

One of my closest friends is a "full figured gal" we call her "Pretty Plus" because thats the dept at Sears she used to have to get her clothes as a kid wehen her mom would take her there. lol.

She is full of life and zest, beautiful, and a CPA...at 23.

I also think Jill Brown is beautiful.

I just ran across a "big" (not fat by any means) girl that I knew in High School on Classmates.com.

She was what we might call "Big boned," but damn, did she have a sexy way about her. And very pretty.

Me too!! Me too!! I guess I just have a thing for big ol' teddy bears. I like some meat on my man's bones!!!! :)

Ideal, you're right...everyone has their own taste, however, that does not give anyone the right to put people down. If you don't like someone just because of their looks keep it to yourself, don't be mean.

What I find interesting is that a size ten (ten!) is more and more the cut-off for being considered full-figured.

That's funny to me - I'm larger around the hips than I am in the bust - below the waist I'm full figured, above the waist, I could be Twiggy. Well, perhaps the difference isn't quite that dramatic, but you get the picture.

So here I am, walking through some clothing establishment, that rarely if ever have slacks or skirts at size 10, let alone higher. What I'm looking for is blouses - I can wear a medium, even a small sometimes. And the sales girl is all rude, asking me if she can help, eyeing me up and down as if I'm beyond all help. :rolleyes:

*mutter* I just remembered why I hate shopping at place that think they're all that, but really aren't.....!

EQueen- i feel your pain!
I'm a size 10 on bottoms and a small or medium on top. But i have boobs, so that doesn't help either!
But size 10 isn't necessarily a large size though.
Clothing makers don't help things at all- my roommate is very thin and couldn't fit into a size 9 in the juniors department one time (in normal clothes, she wears like a 4).
And btw- 150 pounds is NOT overweight. I'm 5'7" and around 145. Go look at my picture in the "what do we look like" thread.. I don't look "fat", i think i look pretty damn good. I would love to be in better shape, but in no way am i fat! I never have a problem getting guys, especially fraternity guys! I'm not full figured, i'm curvy and have a woman's body.
A woman's body isn't supposed to look like a board. I have boobs, i have ass, and i have hips. And i'm proud of it.
And UF-Pike, if you did make those comments, wait about 15 years. Chances are your future wife will be around 150 pounds or more, no matter what she may weight when you get married. Women gain weight as they age, especially when they have kids.
