I want to rush but need help !
 

Hey,
Well...I have this dilema. I am goin got be going to a small-ish college and it only has 4 national sororities : Alpha Chi Omega, Zeta Tau Alpha, and Alph Delta Pi. Anyway...I cant get a hold of any of them to find out about recruitment ! I called the greek life office at the school but I guess its closed because they NEVER answer the phone. And the websites I go to are all out dated as far as recruitment goes. When I went to the college day at my college they had a student activites area and I went and put my name and address down at the Panhellenic table but I have not recieved anything yet. I dont know what to do ! I have orientation in about 5 days and was wondering if there is anything that I can look forward to there. I need some advice about how to get rush info. Can anyone help?

Ask your orientation leader...he/she should be able to help you out.

dont worry!
orientation is a great time to find out about rush!
it wont be until usually the first week of school and even then you can sign up before! they always have last minute sign ups!
those are all great sororities you have at your school!

I am really worried though because last year they had rush a week before you could move into your dorm (i know this because all of there websites are outdated) so if i wait until i get to school i will be too late. I am really naive about the whole rush process i am the only person in my family (that i know of) to even want to join a sorority. I am just so afraid that I wont get the information I need to rush. :(

Do you have a local panhellenic (not sure if they have one in Bastrop but maybe you can use the one in Austin). Try and contact the panhellenic club locally and see if you can find out any info. through them plus you probably can get recommendations which may be needed (I think I know which college you are going to and am not sure if recs are needed or not). I will see if I can find out if there is a website for the Austin panehellenic.

Please tell me the school - I can try to find out information for you , but your best bet would be to ask during Orientation next week.

I am going to Sam Houston State University, in Huntsville, Texas. I would LOVE any information or any help that I can get as to what numbers to call, or somewhere to go when I am at orientation, or anything at all. Thank you all so much.

If I were you, I would definitely ask about Greek Life during orientation, and find out if your school's Panhellenic is planning to send out information about Rush during the summer.

Normally, Panhellenic will send out some type of rush packet to girls who have indicated an interest in rushing. It may be that they just haven't mailed them yet. But asking during Orientation can't hurt. :)

Check out the University's website for some information, and definitely ask about it at Orientation. I don't think Chi Omega is there anymore though.

You can't forget the newest NPC sorority on campus is Sigma Sigma Sigma. They were installed in April so are a new group on campus. Their website is:

It doesn't list formal recruitment dates, but it does list a phone number for the student activities office.

Tri-Sigma just colonized at SHSU, replacing Chi Omega on the rolls.

There is also a local sorority on campus and one of their members posts here quite a bit, or at least, did so in the past.

Thanks sailboatgirl I didnt even know they had tri-sigma there...I knew they were hopefully getting a new national sorority, but I didnt know that they already had gotten one. anyway I just wanted to thank you for that website. it was very helpful.

thank you to everyone one who helped me out !!! I got the information I needed about Rush. And I must admit most of you were right it is after school begins...thank goodness. I used the number off of the tri-sigma website (because it is the only one that has been updated in a while) and they gave me all the information I needed and are sending me a packet. I just wanted to thank you all. wish me luck during rush ;)
