Juneteenth

Hi sorhors:

Has anyone ever heard of Juneteenth Celebration. If so do you celebrate every year on June 19th. This thread was posted on the AKA forum and I thought this was very interesting, being that I'm up North in Boston. I guess this is celebrated in the south. Here is the web address for celebration. I am up North as well so I would have to say no. I hear it is celebrated on a massive level in Texas.

There is an annual Juneteenth celebration in Kansas City. I'd have to check, but I don't think it's necessarily held on June 19th.

I checked. It takes place over the weekend. This year it June 16-18.

I've heard of Juneteenth. In fact, I was checking on activities in the DC Metro area. Every year, I say I am going and something always comes up. I'm making an effort this year.
