Attendence Policy

Hey Guys,
I wrote a post about this a while ago and got some replies that were very interesting. I am very interested in learning more about the "color system" or whatever you call it. Some people said that they label all socials and sisterhoods as blue events, all fundraisers and philanthropies as purple events or whatever and they take attendence that way. LOL, if that made sense to you, please let me know the technicalities of the system, as I am hoping to use it in my chapter this year.

Its somthing about the way the hair falls in your face, I love the shape you take when crawling towards the pillow case, you tell me where to go and, though I might leave to find it, I'll never let your head hit the bed without my hand behind it...

I LOVE HIM! LOL, Like half the other people at this site

As AGD's colors are red, buff, and green, so...
we have a red, buff, and green color system.
It has worked really well for us.

Red: Mandatory for everyone (i.e.: Recruitment or Philanthropy)
Buff: Mandatory if it applies to you (i.e.: meetings - EC, CC, NMM)
Green: Mandatory to attend 40% (i.e.: Sisterhoods)

we have a different system..

Perl, Diamond and Emerald...

Each Girl is given one of them... then each event is labeled as such...

You were required to attend the corresponding event..

EX..

I was a Diamond... so if a mixer was scheduled on a Diamond week.. I was required to go..

If there was a mixer scheduled for an emerald week I wasn't required, however, I was invited to go..

We also allowed for switching.. so if a perl couldn't make it to a perl event, she could switch with a diamond.

We also made sure to give 2 weeks notice for things that were mandatory...

We didn't use a color system. We had mandatory events such as alcohol awareness and community service and philanthropic events. Everyone need to attend unless there was a conflict with class or work schedule. We earned points for optional events. If you didn't earn enough points, no formal, no little sister, or ultimately no vote. It never got that far though.

KDShannon -- I like your Diamond, Pearl, and Emerald system. :D

My chapter also uses the Diamond, Pearl, Emerald groups, except we call them AOT groups. Three groups: A, O, and T. For mixers, and member eds (except alcohol, which is mandatory for all) and anything else similar, two groups are required to go. If you can't go, you have to get someone in the not required group to go for you. You always have 2 weeks notice before a mandatory event, except when voted on by the chapter that it be made mandatory (for instance, a last minute mixer)

does this system actually work? We've had a headache having not everyone at events tons of excuses and stuff. it gets hard to make sure we stay 'fun'.
