also depending on how good your alumni relations are... one fundraising idea that both my chapter and gamma theta (san diego state) have used successfully is to auction of rooms (bedrooms, living room, chapter room, kitchen) in the future chapter house to alumni. for instant, an alumni might pay $500 (only an example amount) to have Room 10 in the house named (and so designated by a small plaque above the door) "The Grant Mills, Alpha Zeta '79 Room" or pay $1000 to sponsor the "Steven Spielberg Chapter Room." My chapter saw individual alumni and whole pledge-classes of alumni go in to "buy" rooms in our house.
