DZ chapter in Canada....

Hi DZ's,

I discovered this webpage today for DZ's Omicron Nu chapter at the University of Windsor in Ontario, Canada.

I thought it was kind of cool...you know, with Canada being a "foreign country" and all...

Hmmm...I wonder if, being in Canada, they refer to themselves as D-Zed's? ;)

Hi Cutie (gee, I feel like I am flirting. LOL!)

There used to be another Canadian chapter but it shut down a few years ago. A couple of Conventions ago, sisters tried to pass changing the name of Delta Zeta to Delta Zeta International Sorority. It didn't pass, but for a while, that is what we were calling ourselves. That was because we were finally in Canada. LOL! I think it's funny that being in Canada would make us international :)

The Omicron Nu chapter was installed around the same time as my Omicron Pi chapter was installed. It was a fun time for DZ :)

Hey! You're right...I just found this...DZ was once at
Brock University (that's in St. Catherines, Ontario)- It was Omicron Tau (1994-2000) chapter.

Yes...I know it is kind of strange to think of Canada as "international" (because we don't have that same "sexy cachet" as say, a European country?), but indeed, it's International!

I did notice that some NPC sororities with Canadian chapters have adopted the "International" part into their name...Gamma Phi Beta is one (4 Canadian chapters), Alpha Phi (6 Canadian chapters) is another. Maybe when the day comes when DZ has more Canadian chapters established, the "international" thing will be revisited.
