First day party numbers?

Hey Ladies! How many parties do you have on your first day? We have a grand total of 14! I guess last year, they split Pan-day (our first intro day) into two days. This year, we shortened the week to only 4 days, so we have a lot to accomplish and so many women to meet!

First round parties are divided into two days (5 the first day, 4 the second).

I go to a smaller school. We only have four sororities. So,all of the parties are on the first night.

On our first night of rush we have open house where all three soror's give presentations and we go over general rush info and the rules and stuff.. slide show, each soror does a skit or a song or something, then the PNM get split up into our groups and have 15 minutes w/each chapter.. but it's not really considered a party night... second night is 1st round parties, and so on.. only 3 sorors so every soror has a party everynight

We have all parties (7) the 1st night

I think this year it is 4 and 5 in two nights. They are during school and had to make changes. Usually it is 9 the first day when it is before school.

I go to a pretty small school...only three NPC sororities. Our first round is held in just one night, and we have 4 parties.

We had nine the first day and seven the second...it's a really long first round!

We had a very unusual rush system. There are 5 sororities at my school.

PNM's were split up into their rho chi groups, and their PX's explained rush rules, party schedules, etc. Then 3 or 4 PX's would combine their groups, resulting in 5 big groups (30-40 girls each). Each group would then visit each sorority for 10 minutes. Sororities would usually do a skit and maybe do some brief conversation.

After that were two long parties called open houses - a total of about 8 hours split over 2 days. PNM's could go back to any sorority they wished and stay as long or as short a time as they liked.

After open houses, sororities would invite people for round 2 parties the next night, then pref the following night.

I gather my school is going to deferred rush next year, so this may change.

UF Round 1

From what I have read, UF has 10 on Monday and 10 on Tuesday to make up the first round even though we only have 16 sororities to go to. I guess it is because of how many people rush; I was told that they expect over 1300 people to rush this year and based on what Panhellenic told me about quota only around 900 will get in!!!

10 parties. There are nine sororities but the PNM's get a break...we don't. :(

8 rounds of parties the first day.

14 paties in 1 day! IMO-WAY too many! We had a full day last year on a Sunday and I think we did 10 or 11 parties. It was 3rd rounds, but still...that's SO many girls to meet and ESPICIALLY since it's your first impression of them...well, how well can you really make a first impession and get to see theirs?? Has anyone ever done something like 14 first round parties in one day before? How dd it work out?? We have 4 days of first rounds and each night is 6-7 parties.

erniegurl00 05-23-2002 03:07 PM

We have six sororities at my school, but on the first day we have eight parties. The PNM's get two breaks, but of course we barely have 30 minutes to each lunch and sit down! The next day is better with four parties and two the last day.

We have house tours on Sunday with 8 houses in one day, then every day they eliminate 2 till pref night
