SORORS!

AM I THE ONLY SOROR having problems with registration? I registered the day it opened and got an error saying my registration couldn't be processed...then come to find out my account had been double billed!

I just got that situation taken care of, but I've since gone back to register with a different card and got an error again. This 'everything' online policy has definitely backfired in my case. And I know others are having the same problem because the DST website has since posted a statement regarding online payments.

I don't have a hotel. I don't have tickets to any events. I'm soooooooooo saddened by this. This is to be my first National Convention and I can't even get registered.

Okay, I'm venting, but seriously....is anyone else having problems? This is getting so frustrating, especially since the deadline is tomorrow and I'm not paying an additional fee to register when I've submitted the payment and the system didn't register a confirmation number. Technically, I'm still not registered in their eyes. Uggggghhhhh, :(

I'm not about to be one of those Sorors who just comes to shop for nalia and go to the step show. I want to be fully registered and up in opening and closing ceremony, and every Plenary. Okay, I'm really through now. Still hope to see everyone in HOTlanta.

Sounds horrible - did you print out the error pages - last year they fixed problems past the deadline without charging late registration fees for regional conferences if sorors could prove they tried to register on time - I'm not sure if they're doing the same thing this year, but it's worth a try.

Soror, it may be that there are so many people trying to register since the deadline is fast approaching. When I registered the first day everything went fine. Have a little patience and orint out the errors as Soror CC suggested. Good luck!

I just registered today and it with through just fine. I got my conformation and everything. Maybe if you try it today, it'll go through.

I hadn't heard from anyone personally that they coudln't register, that is until my niece called at 11:30 p.m. last night in a frantic panic - she's a Spring '02 initiate and there seems to be some issue with the system recognizing their membership numbers - so you're not alone, it remains to be seen how it will be resolve because she definitely isn't paying $400 to register!!!

That's why it pays to know the National Webmaster!

If I were the National Webmaster & I read that Sorors were having problems registering online I wouldn't be noting the benefits of knowing me. I would be apologizing for the difficulty because if they had difficulty that means I made an error in planning somewhere. But again, that's just my opinion as a Chapter Webmaster and as a Soror who tried to get other Sorors registered but couldn't because the site was down.

I understand your reaction but I believe that comment was tongue in cheek. In reality the national webmaster did not design or install the registration system. It was done by a firm contracted by the sorority. (And they aren't the same firm that did the conference registration.) But the sorors don't know that so the national webmaster has been the one getting the calls and emails about the problems. And staff has leaned on her to fix them. Since you are a webmaster I am sure you can understand how hard it would be to fix someone else's code especially if they were PAID to write it and you are NOT PAID to try and fix it. The bottom line is we bought some BAD code.

Yes, I do understand how difficult and frustrating it is to fix someones else's code so I definetly appreciate the effort. Even though BeeJae did not write the code, as you've explained, she is being held accountable for it. In the same way, Sorors in my chapter looked to me to explain what was going on. I feel that as National Webmaster, an offer of an explaination of what happened should have been made instead of a comment regarding the benefit of knowing her.

Well, in my opinion, any so called SOROR would not laugh (LOL) at another Soror's misfortune, no matter how important she thought she was to know. :rolleyes:

Anyway, still looking forward to meeting everyone. Registration still isn't straightened out, but in due time.

I have also not been able to register and I am the alternate delagate for my chapter.
I am a Neo and our advisor did say that Neo's from other chapters are also receiving the "invalid membership" error message.
I have been told our problem is because we are receiving our memebership numbers so late and I guess this is causing a problem with the contractor receiving and placing our info in their systems.
I have also been told...but this is not concrete....
For Neos, that if your advisor contacts the right person, they may be able to send a list of names for all the new initiates attending the convention, and we may be able to register there for pre-registration price.
Lastly, I have been told that they are looking into a special registration period strictly for new initiates.. I guess because there were so many this time.
I hear the last count at the end of pre-registration was a little over 8,000 sorors! WOW!

But again.. this is just my 13%. You aint heard nothing from me..

And it is not just Neos. I know a soror who has been a member for 10 years, is diamond life paid-in-full, and a member of a national committee--yet she got the same error message.

I have heard that if you emailed the address given, that will show that you attempted to register before the deadline and you will be given the pre-regisration fee. Also, if you had done a screen print of the error message that will also serve as proof of attempting to register before the deadline.

In any case, I am sure some accomodations will be made for all of these problems. If not, then I am staying clear of the registration booths at convention - :eek:

My comment was not one of "nastiness"...

My point was that had you contacted ME, I may have been able to offer some insight... Many folks DID and I HELPED them... even LONG DISTANCE on MY dime... although I haven't been paid a single CENT for ANYTHING I've done as National Webmaster...


...but I've ALWAYS been available to HELP...

...so PLEASE don't throw stones at me.... or I guess I could say "Stand in line to throw them"

Beejae, thank you for coming back to clarify your point.

I never knew asking for an explaination of what happened/is happening was classified as "throwing stones". And I definetly didn't question how much unrecognized, unpaid, unreimbursed work that's done by you or anyone in the name of or for Delta.

That having been clarified is there a general or uniform method that sorors need to take in order to get their issues resolved? It seems that Spring 02 initiates have had the most problems. No message is posted on the website, phone messages and e-mails have not been returned so what should be done now so that sorors do not have to pay the late registration fee??
