Gamma Chi - yes or no?

Gamma Chi was an interesting concept, but not meant to be. We are all GreekChat members, and that is sufficient.

I agree with above stated #4...it is very complicated and waht was once a wonderful idea has become a real complicated mess...

Please DONT flame me for this coming my opinion...BUT
Gamma Chi or Greek Chat...is to promote ideas of people everywhere...

OK well isnt that what we do all the time???
We ALLLLLL come here to talk and share ideas regardless of the letters we wear...
and if you think about it we are ALLLL members of Gamma Chi regardless of how many posts we have, or how many times we come here to post....
Its all about the ideas and qualitys we bring to the community...

Dont get me wrong..the idea of getting "inntiated" and involved in Gamma Chi sounds like ALOT of fun....but I think that the basic idea should be coming together to talk be friends and have a good time...not whether u are on this side of the US can go to this confrence or that confrence and its not about if u are innitiated either...

WE ARE ALL GREEKS...And we are all UNITED in one COMMUNITY called Greek Chat.... Or if you like Gamma Chi....

But if you like to keep it going all the more power to you! good luck...but all of a sudden it seems that GC has been inundated with posts about Gamma Chi and this innitation and that innitiation... when it seems that we have lost the actual meaning..which is to come together to SHARE ideas....

OK enough You get my point...But please dont flame me...I agree Gamma Chi is a good idea..but sometimes simplified things are better off in the end....

Good Luck to all You people organizing and creating Gamma Chi and to all those people involved....

Ack! May I ask that people don't give their statements about Gamma Chi, just vote for a # 1-4.

MoonStar17, I'm just afraid that, if people give their extended opinions, this thread will turn into another war like the other thread did. I think aephi alum just wanted to get a vote. I'm not flaming you....I just don't want someone to come back at you with a mean reply or something and then all heck will break loose. :)

May i suggest a #5... continue on with all the Gamma Chi stuff, but perhaps create a new forum for it (just like we have Greek Life, Rush, Chit Chat, etc.) that way those who want to be involved can, the Greek Life board won't be "cluttered up" with posts about it, and those who aren't interested don't have to deal with it?

OK, I was going to say #3. But then I thought ...

Actually, we aren't all Greek here - some of us are future Greeks, or former Greeks, or are in social vs. professional vs. service fraternities, which aren't necessarily the same thing.

But then, what's the point of Gamma Chi? If it just means you are a member of GreekChat (including the anti-Greeks and the troublemakers), then it doesn't necessarily even support Greek life, and it's a fancy way of saying "chat group member." It's like putting a bow on a poodle - it makes the poodle look cute, maybe, but it's still a dog.

So I guess I will vote for #4 UNLESS someone can come up with a clear vision for Gamma Chi, and to my mind that would include less of the trappings of a Greek organization and more of a plan for furthering membership in Greek organizations and growing Greek systems.
