Ladies Plus Size Formals (not spam!)
Does anyone here know of a good source for plus size formals?
I am starting to look way ahead of time for a dress for a ball in February and I am already feeling frustrated. The plus size options seem to be really limited. |
Not totally sure if this is what you're looking for, but Nordstrom and David's Bridal have pretty good selections.

I love Eshakti.
Eshakti offers to make any of their designs custom measured based on what you tell them as well. I get almost all of my cocktail dresses and formal dresses from there. |
If you like vintage, check out http://www.pinupgirlclothing.com/ and http://www.unique-vintage.com/
|
fullbeauty.com has some also, depending on how formal you want it to be.

I want it to be long but no sleeveless or strapless styles. I would prefer under $200.
I can't believe I forgot David's Bridal! |
When you visit your son at Nicholls, try the Bridal Corner downtown. The owner is a Phi Mu.

I ordered a dress for a military ball from David's Bridal and it was great! Not at all bridesmaid-y.
It was a size 16, I had it altered to a bit smaller though. |
David's Bridal has awesome formals and they run great sales.

I'm teetering on that straight/plus borderline, and I've had surprisingly good luck at Group USA, which also sells online at www.camillelavie.com. Many of their dresses go to a 24. I also recently bought a dress I loved from www.asos.com, from a line called Chi Chi London. I just took a quick spin through the site and that brand seems to stop at a 20, but not sure whether that's all the time or whether they're just low on stock. The site has other plus options.
Nordstrom Rack is my go-to, though. |

Thanks for all the ideas. |
http://www.torrid.com is a plus-size store - not sure exactly what you are looking for but they may be worth checking out!
