Arkansas Beta is here to STAY!
I am pleased to announce that the Arkansas Beta chapter will NOT be closing! After rallying support from the greek community and the community at large grand council decided NOT to close us! I am going to get to have the full undergraduate Pi Phi experence!
YAY! PPL TG |
I am very happy for you! Good job at staying on campus. I have seen chapters suffer, and it is so hard to make a comeback. I bet you all will be stronger than ever! Congrats!

I am so happy to hear that, trojan girl! good job!
Love in Pi Beta Phi! |
I am so, so proud of y'all! You fought as hard as you could--that's the Pi Phi spirit!
|
Oh TrojanGirl, that's so wonderful!! I have been following your story and I am sure that the fact that your pledge class all chose to initiate was a factor in the positive decision - showing how dedicated you all were to Pi Phi. Congrats to all of you and live it up!!
:D :D :D :D |
This is wonderful news! Congratulations!

I am absolutely thrilled! I thought the loyalty and enthusiasm of your pledge class -- not to mention the rest of the chapter -- would count for something. I'm sure your love for Pi Phi will be evident to the rushees. Go get 'em!
Pi Phi love and mine, Donna |
Thanks so much guys. We may be a small chapter, but we have an amazing group of dedicated girls who spent hours making phone calls, signing petitions, folding letters to be sent to alum, all the while keeping our grades up and still competing in Greek Week and Sigma Nu relays!
We could have never done it alone. The other fraternities and the Tri-Deltas were right there beside us. We even had the guys of Phi Beta Sigma helping us stuff envelopes! The Beta Alum and our house corp were the driving force and guidence. We literally had 40 years of alum come and say, "What can we do?" This whole experence was not just a Pi Phi victory. It was a show of unity among greeks and a greek victory! TG |
From our Web site:
Adopted at the 1890 Convention, the wine carnation is now our official flower. At the convention it was said, "The roots of the flower are the Founders, for from them the whole plant grew, ...the stem represents the Grand Council. It gives to us what was received from the roots. It gives us height and strength... the leaves of our flower are the alumnae. They stand nearest the stem and assist it in its work. They are in communication with the world and breathe in for us the best of the world's ideals... the petals are red for the girls are loyal. As it is the rich, wine color which makes the flower attractive, it, too, is the warm fervent loyalty of its members which makes Pi Beta Phi beautiful in the eyes of everyone... The pistil is the spirit and the stamens are ideals of Pi Beta Phi. The petals stand closely united around these to defend and protect them." Sounds like the actives and alums exemplified this description. |
Late...
Huge congrats TrojanGirl! I read the "Help" thread and responded, wishing you luck, not realizing you already were out of trouble (and then deleted my post after I saw this!)
It is so awesome that your pledge class decided to stick to Pi Phi and it is the best thing ever that your chapter gets to stay open! I'm so happy for you! Pi Phi Love, Dyan |
