Hi sorhors:

I was viewing other gc pages about stepping styles of the Divine 9. I was am wondering what are we known for in stepping and does it vary by region.

Well, I think it varies from region to region. I think we should know the historical sigma steps though! Just a thought.

Does anyone know the Sigma Freeze, In 1922 and other historical steps. It seems as though these steps are not carried on from year to year.

I've never heard of the sigma freeze but I was told by one of ours sorors that we are known for hard stepping. I would love to find out more about our traditional steps. If a soror knows them can you please pm a sister.

Sorhors,

One good thing that took place at our 60th Northeast Regional Conference was the Undergraduate Step Workshop! Sorhors it was really informative and it answered a lot of your questions about steps from region to region!

Sigma Freeze

I don't know how it goes, but want to learn. I suggested that there be a step clinic at Boule, so that we can learn some of these steps and even other strolls.

Eee-Yip!

you should contact the Lady Sigmas at LIncoln College in Missouri.

I have NEVER seen an SGRho step so hard! they put on a show for HOmecoming and ripped it UP! (they won firstplace of course)

I'm teaching one of them now how to cane...

If there's a clinic at the upcoming Boule, I will be sitting up front, w/ a video camera, taking notes :)

i know i am SO late on this...

we are known for being the women that step with CANES...
perhaps it is a southeast region thing, but i know EVERY soror down this way has a cane, every undergrad chapter steps with canes... i know in undergrad, if we looked really fly one day, we'd rock the cane as an accessory...
now, i know other sororities use canes, too...but that's what we're know for...
i'm in grad chapter now, but when we see other sororities use canes...our blood pressure goes up, just a little...

I've stepped with my cane before. Now i usually keep it in my trunk for "Greek emergencies"
:D

this is a great topic. the fact that there will be a stepping workshop at boule saddens me because im not sure if i will be able to attend....

but this is so important. i am a NEO and my SHIPs ask about this AAALLL the time. What are we known for doing? What are some historical steps and moves? Do we step with canes?

We were told we didnt step with canes but sticks. We didn't walk around with canes only Kappas and Sigma Phi Betas walked around with their canes. :D Oooh wait to i tell my ships.
