Probate by yourself?
Hello Soros & Sisterfriends... I have a question that I just want to get a few opinions on.
I saw a videotape last night that had some Probates on it. DST- Zeta Sigma with our girl MeezDecreet and Delta Gamma (TSU). They were relly good!:D There was also a SGRho on there who either was the only one that made it or the only one that attempted it. My question is, if it was you, and you had to probate by your lonesome, in front of hundreds of people:eek: , would you? |

to answer the question, yes, i would do it and represent to the fullest.

In undergrad, my best friend pledged and probated Sigma Gamma Rho all by her lonesome. She was (and still is) TIGHT! Our campus showed her nothing but love and support, and she even won FIRST PLACE at our homecoming stepshow the next fall. (To my understanding, the University only allows chapter members to step, not combined "area" step teams that some places have).

I have seen "single" probates and they were tight. I think there is even more pressure on those individuals to REPRESENT. I know of an Alpha who pledged and whose probate was solo, I think his line name was something like "Lone Ranger" - very appropriate. ;)
I have a friend who told me there was only one SGRho on campus and that ONE person was a workhorse doing more than anyone could ever expect, in turn she was truely repected for her contributions to the chapter by EVERYONE greeks and non-greeks alike. I think its commendable |
i came in solo and had to probate all by my lonesome... while i was really nervous about it (you can hardly call me a stepmistress... lol,) i am sooooooo happy that i did it now that i look back and have those fond memories.
i represented to the fullest! and everyone at the probate was open! reppin for all the SOLOS - SexyZeta |
Probating???
Are these probate shows....or coming out shows???
|
The terms probate and coming out seem to be used interchangeably these days. I just became an advisor again (hadn't been one since '86) and was very surprised at how the term is used. Or there is a "probate" show but there isn't really a "probate" status to go along with it - not that it's a bad thing, but I can't speak for all groups.
