Music
Do you ever really like a musical artist that very few other people have heard of?
1) Who is the artist/group/band? 2) Any of their songs the general public would recognize? 3) Songs from this artist/group/band that you would recommend? Mine: 1) Amanda Marshall 2) "Ride" (in "The Replacements") 3) "Sunday Morning After," "Dizzy," and "Everybody's Got A Story" 1) Plumb 2) "Stranded" (in "Drive Me Crazy") and "Damaged" (in "Brokedown Palace") 3) "Here With Me," "Phobic," "World's Collide," and "Lie Low" |
1) The Style Council
2) "My Ever Changing Moods", "Shout to the Top" (from Vision Quest) 3) "How She Threw It All Away", "It's A Very Deep Sea", "The Lodgers (or, She Was Only A Shopkeeper's Daughter)" This is my favorite band of all time and I pretty much love everything they have done. |
1) Sebadoh
2) The only song I ever have heard by them on the radio is "Flame" 3) "Brand New Love" "Not Too Amused" "Soul and Fire" "Willing to wait" I've actually got a several...I'm seriously like the king of obscure music. 1)Jon Spencer Blues Explosion 2)"lovin Machine" from the Road Trip soundtrack (it's also my self-decided Theme song!!!) 3)"Magical Colors" "Lovin' Machine (Dan the Automator remix)" "Orange" "F*** Sh*t Up" 1)Pomeroy 2) you've probably heard of them if you live in either Kansas City, Omaha, Denver, Manhatten KS, or Lincoln NE, and you keep abreast of the local club scenes...they toured briefly with The Urge 3) "Roboflow" "Summernight" "Droppin'" "My Paradise" 1)The Get Up Kids 2)Dunno, they tour incessently, and they do rock. They are actually from my school district in Kansas (I don't actually live in the city that comprises most of the district, so I can't say hometown truthfully). But anyway, the mom of one of the members was actually my 7th grade math teacher, and my little brother had her last year as well...for my birthday he got her to get them to autograph a cd for me. 3) "Don't hate Me" "Action & Action" "Red Letter Day" "Holiday" "Valentine" |
1) Pat Green
2) Three Days 3) Carry On, Crazy, Dancehall Dreamer, Everclear, Songs About Texas, Three Days 1) Cory Morrow 2) Nashville Blues 3) Always and Forever, Big City Stripper, Drink One More Round, I Wanna Go Home, I'm Not Coming Home Tonight, Nashville Blues, Sing With Me, Texas Time Travelin' |

Here's my answer:
1. Eva Cassidy (don't know if she's got much air play in the US - here in England, there is a BBC DJ who has given her stuff a lot of publicity) 2. "Over the Rainbow" (no disrespect to Judy Garland, but I've gotta say - Eva really knows how to sing this one!) 3. "Fields of Gold" (puts Sting's version to absolute shame...IMO!) |
