Kiteman! I NEED YOUR HELP!
 

Hi THETAS! I'm new to this chatboard and I need everyone of you to help me out!

Our chapter is in the process of getting a Kiteman, which is like a sweetheart for fraternities. I was wondering do any of you do this in your chapters?

What we need is a serenade for him and I don't know if there is a traditional Kiteman song that Thetas sing. We want him to feel extra special and want to make the serenade special. If any of you have songs please send it to me ASAP. Or if you know where I can get it, that would be great too. We are presenting him next Saturday.

We have a THETA man. Each month we select a new guy to represent our chapter. We normally give him something such as a paddle or boxer shorts signed by the chapter that say THETA MAN. Yes we do seranade him. Normally we just sing the traditional seranade song that I think is in the THETA song book.

Our chapter had a big discussion on having just one guy for the year or one a semester or one a month. We like this because we can get to know more people this way and feel connected to the whole greek community not just one chapter. (and by the way our THETA MAN does not have to be greek). The guys really like it too, A lot of them ask to be nominated because they know that if they don't get it one month that they might get it another month and they will feel special for that month.

That sounds like a great PR program that you guys have at Ball State. Thank you for the ideas about the paddle and boxers! I'm sure he'd love that.

I knew there was some sort of serenade in the Song book but unfortunately our music chair had misplaced it and we don't have enough time to order a new one.
