Yay for what Kristin said! No one ever belives that we dont haze... yay for Phi Sig! I wish there was a way more people could see how awesome we are!

I agree with you about it. But i understand why National is doing this. From what we were told by our advisors. Is Channels like MTV are trying to do a reality show about sororities, But Honestly do you think MTV would show the good side of sororities? I think they will fudge the truth. It's more to protect the members and the sororites image and ideals. I know taht my chapter sends articles and press releases to the papers/TV channels in town for all the good things we do as a chapter, But nationals allows that.

What do people think of when they hear about greeks? Animal House. Thats basically it. So thats what people want to hear.

Hey, I'm sorry to butt in here when I'm not a Phi Sigma Sigma, but do you realize that in saying "we're unusual because we don't haze," you're just telling her that the majority of Greeks do haze, which is exactly the sort of fodder she wants?

For the record, most of us DON'T haze.

For the record it is against NPC regulations, against most sororities bylaws, and it is ILLEGAL to haze, so no NPC sorority should be hazing. Please be careful how you word things. It will not only give this lady something to feed on. but will also make other orgs look bad (when there is no reason) AND make others pretty angry in the process.

While yes its true a lot of fraternities and sororities don't haze, phi sig national has extremely strict rules about hazing. things that other people might not consider hazing is hazing in the eyes of phi sig national. i understand how the other greeks feel about what was said, but I think she meant to say that almost all phi sig chapters dont haze not even in the tiniest bit. i know some greeks might feel that they didn't get hazed but our rules would qualify some of the things as hazing. first of all calling new members pledges is hazing! that just one example. Plus at my school, I think Phi Sig is one of the few sororities that doesn't do some type of hazing, at least from what I have heard. But yes we have to recognize that plenty of ther greek organizations do not haze and are just as wonderful as phi sig!
