MTV's "FEAR"
 

I don't know about y'all but i saw that MTV show Fear for the first time and was scared out of my mind. Have any of you seen it? What did you think about it. I didn't think i would get scared but the things they make these kids do is terrible...I saw the one about the ghost/murdering monster-thing in Mexico (i think) called the Nuhualu (spelling?) and it scared the shit out of me and my brother....just wondeirng everybody else's thoughts....

i've not seen it, but one of my brothers from my chapter here at UofL was on it two weeks ago....and won. i thought that was pretty cool, some of the guys taped it so i'll get to see it later, but supposedly he did a little hand sign that was representative of his pledge class cause they all were talking about it. He's a lucky ass though...he was in a maxim mt. dew ad a few months back too.

Not to burst anyone's bubble, but most all of the Fear episodes are based on untrue events/places. They had one at a supposed military school where the headmaster sodomized and killed his students that was actually filmed in a huge warehouse. And the one that was at a summer camp that was supposed to be inhabited by satanists and a place where many murders occured was actually an active summer camp that was not in use because it was winter. I still watch it, but only because the contestants think they are in a haunted place, and that's just as scary as if they were actually in one.

I agree with PowderASU. The show itself is purely psychological, and most of their "dares" have nothing to do with the paranormal. I remember the military school episode where the ditzy chick had to basically electricute herself to complete the dare...WTF is that?

I frequented the FEAR message board for a while, and it's true, most of their "haunted places" aren't even haunted at all... the locations are chosen and most of their history is fabricated by MTV. Don't get me wrong, the places MAY contain some paranormal activity, but most of it is just another case of MTV exaggerating stuff to boost ratings.

Sandy, as soon as you mentioned that ditzy chick, the first thing that popped into my head was, "I hope I won't die...I have piercings you know."

I still occasionally watch the show even though it's mostly a hoax.

I think it's a great show, it's soo funny, everyone panics and spazzes out , my friends and I want to get a team out there just to have fun with it, and win some dough ya know. Think it would be a great experience eh :D
